yes - my grandparents used to live near Severance Mall and we used to go there all the time in the 60s and 70s. That was torn down YEARS ago.

Paul Blart Mall Cop was filmed at the Burlington Mall. Although, I don't think I've gone further into the mall than Legal Sea Foods in 30 years.

same here. Plus some are being torn down and some are being re-purposed. I went to one of ours a couple of years ago for the first time in probably 15 years because I had to go to some store there for some reason. I swear it's like half the size it used to be - and at least a couple of the anchor stores are gone. They walled off one whole end of the mall and there's some big wine warehouse store on the other side of the wall. Maybe kids around here still hang out at them - I'm not sure. But nobody seems to talk about the malls anymore.

Mornin' Everyone!

I think temps are supposed to drop today. I signed up for a group bike ride tomorrow (15 miles) just so I get some exercise, so I'll have to go buy some gloves today (I have mittens, but no gloves. I don't think mittens will work too well with a bike). Clothes-wise, I'll just layer.

Today I have two online classes, plus I'm hosting a Webinar from 1:00-2:30. It's a presentation for an adult education organization (I chair the lectures committee - and of course all lectures are via Zoom now). I don't think I'll have time for much more today...

QOTD: I agree Harvard Square is a great place to people watch. I've only been to Boston twice, but both times I decided if I ever moved there, I'd live in Cambridge so I could hang out in the square! (plus Cambridge reminds me a lot of Madison - with the additional advantage of having Boston on the other side of the river!). Here the best place to people watch is the Wisconsin Union Terrace (we have two student unions - but the original one is on the shore of Lake Mendota - and it has this HUGE terrace with hundreds of tables & chairs that they put out in the summer. And the place is PACKED. Not only with university people, but pretty much everybody). They feature live music there several nights a week - and there are a couple of food stands, too. It's a wonderful place. I missed it so much this summer!!!

TSS: 5y4m

B: protein pancakes with plain Greek yogurt and some kind of fruit compote, coffee with half & half

MS: I'm think a pumpkin latte (protein) shake

L: turkey slices and eggplant tagine

AS: L&F yogurt or a piece of protein pumpkin pie

D: potato/pea curry (??)

have a great day, everyone!!

I'm glad I never saw Reese's cereal before WLS! But I relate to that picture so hard. Sorry to hear the teachers are being forced back into the schools. I hope things go as well as they can.

We're waiting for an update this morning on two very sad situations with colleagues at work, people I've worked closely with for decades. Hoping for the best.

qotd - airports! I love airports for people watching.

I don't have a plan for today, I've had all my coffee, I have left over roast beef to eat up and that's really all I've been able to align on.

Have a great day!

Thanks Christie. We did get good news on the colleagues that were awaiting evacuation orders due to the Cameron Peak Fire - so that's positive. Apparently this is the largest fire we've had and it covered almost 9 miles yesterday. I am desperately hoping for a multi day blizzard starting tonight (there is no blizzard on the forecast).

Still hoping for good news on my other colleague. You are correct, it's been very rough - we've lost 4 since September 5.

I tied the Reese's cereal once. It was a huge disappointment--kind of like the 'essence of Reese's flavored cardboard'. Who is consistently buying that stuff? I mean if I thought it was gross, when I was pre-op...who is the market?
