What's on your Monday menu RNY? and some VSG'rs
I agree, before lockdown I would have told you there was no way I'd be able to go 6 months without entering a restaurant or mall. Then for me, in less than 24 hours I was in an office and at a restaurant indoors for lunch.... thrown into the deep end right?!?!
yes, some of our stores have direction arrows but I don't think they do much good.
Indoor dining is available where you are? For us there is only outside dining or take out.
How's the new job going?

Massachusetts has had indoor dining since early June with occupancy restrictions and now allow more seating indoors. They will vary the rules based on Covid rates.

Our kids require hugs! I can't imagine not hugging them - I don't care about the risk. Do you remember the guy I dated for a few weeks prior to Mike who I stopped seeing because we had nothing in common? His daughter was only 4 hours away but he hadn't seen her since last Christmas. She was moving to LA for a job and he wasn't going to visit her before she left because he didn't want to risk exposure to the virus. That was one of the things that turned me off about him.

Didn't going on dates also expose him to the virus?

Yeah - somehow I was worth the risk but not his daughter???? I had a problem with that. Not an issue with a Mike. We are on the same page about our kids.

Hah! I was gonna say what Jim said.
Well, as they say you gotta kiss a lot of frogs to find the prince! ;)

I think I did pretty good over the weekend... but even though I kept it at around 1,000 calories, I still managed to gain 2.5 lbs... BUT I am still under where I started last week so I am counting that for a win
I am going to do shakes today, all around to keep myself in check. Shooting for 80-90g protein from shakes
QOTD: We did Walmart grocery online for a while but then it just got to the point where they didn't have anything in stock and i would have to order multiple times or have to suffer and get whatever "substitute" the clerk thought was acceptable. I go in now, with my mask and get what I need and make my own substitutions if they don't have anything and it makes things a million times easier. BUT... I also spend more because I am in there... haha
I will use deliver services more, but they DO jack up the prices (and I get it) BUT I would rather go myself. Plus I shop for my mother and get the things she needs too and drop those off to her so she doesn't have to use her income to pay more for the delivery services.
A very late hello.
I miss you folks but so much of my life revolves around my year-long illness and 2 1/2 years of being my DW's caregiver that it's been hard to log in.
The last year I've been mostly debilitated with pain and also secondary issues related to the "treatments." I'm living proof that post-RNY steroids (both oral and injected) and most pain meds can tear up your stomach.
The short version is that I have moderate to severe osteoarthritis in my cervical spine and the bones are deteriorating. I've had a variety of treatments, all of which are temporary band aids, since the surgery I need is 4-5 years away. I've been unable to exercise or even walk outside the house for most of that time, which has been terribly frustrating after finding such joy in regular hard exercise.
I gained about 40 pounds but have worked on revising my food plan, and I've lost 10 pounds this far (148 this morning). I weighed 115 a year ago and while I'd like to be back in the "normal" weight category (125), my goal is . I think that is a more manageable weight for the long term. The neck and head problems will mean no more running and I will no longer be able to do most heavy lifting. And the Pandemic has made it impossible to swim or use the elliptical, which are much safer options. On days where I can get out of bed without extreme pain and dizziness, I've started walking short distances around our neighborhood. I'm so proud of myself for making a new plan that fits within my current abilities. Again VERY disappointing an frustrating.
OK, enough catchup for now...
B1: coffee w/ Miralax and 2 oz of Carbmaster milk
B2: Unjury mighty bites protein bar
L: protein shake: 1 scoop of Unjury unflavored & 1 scoop of Unjury Vanilla w/ coffee and 8 oz of Carbmaster milk
L2: salad (bean sprouts, radishes, pickled red cabbage, 1/4 c of slivered almonds) w/ 4 oz chicken breast & 2 T of Skinny Girl Balsamic dressing
S?: Carbmaster vanilla yogurt w/ 1 cup of mixed berries
I'm behind on my fluids today, but I'm going to try to have another 32 oz this evening.
E: I walked 23 minutes including some stair work. We live on the ground floor of a 4 story condo so it makes a good place to work on my endurance.
QOTD: We've gotten delivery regularly for the last 11-12 years. DW doesn't drive and for the last year it isn't always possible for me either. We use curbside pickup alot when we can (much cheaper) and I recently found out that Whole Foods/Amazon will deliver to our house for free. Great fresh veg and their brand of non-perishables, but some things are really $$ so I juggle what we need on any given time. I miss browsing the aisles but we're being super careful about going out even with our masks on.
Wishing you all a great rest of the day.
Janet
