G'morning everybody!
You know the expression that if you put a frog in the boiling water it jumps out, but if you warm up the water slowly it will stay in? Yuck, I know. We met with some friends during the weekend and it dawned on me we hadn't seen people since mid March! If back in March you had told me I would be isolating from people for 6-7 months I would have scoffed, but going at it month after month it hasn't been that daunting. And the only reason we met up with this couple was because we planned a hike and they were not staying with us. They had been isolating up in Sonora, so very sheltered. The guy is a friend of DH from middle school. He is another engineer with time on his hands during pandemic and has dabbed into Buddhism. We have a Buddhist temple in our area with great hiking around it so he and his gf came down to do the praying and some hiking. We tagged along for the hike part. After that we went to a great vegetarian restaurant with outdoor seating. While we sat and ate and laughed I thought, geez I miss this. After the meal, they went their way and we went back home. During the whole interaction there was no hello or goodbye hugging and I would say not even standing close to each other, so it felt kinda weird. Now that I think of it during this time I have planned with 5 different gf social distance walks/hikes but for some reason it fell through. Should I take this personally?
I can't wait for my kids to come home for thanksgiving, because I don't care if they are bringing the virus itself with them, I'm hugging and kissing the heck out of them.
QOTD: we live in a small town and don't have instacart. I tried a couple of times with curbside pick up but wasn't too happy with the subs. So I do my own shopping. Do they have one way arrows in your supermarkets? Mine do but nobody follows the rules.
My meals yesterday:
- B: coffee + WW muffin
- L: Indian curry tofu (no rice for me)
- S:spicy corn bread
- D:left over Indian curry tofu
- E: rest day, unless you count the easy hike we did.
Happy start of the week, everybody. And I hope JB is OK.

most of our stores have the one way arrows. In fact, I think all my food stores do except for Costco (but they have pretty wide aisles there). Most people do follow them - but there's always the lone ranger. I don't know if they don't care or if they just don't always notice the arrow (I've been guilty of that a couple of times....)
