Hi there, I'm new to the site and skimming posts and decided to just jump in. Reading that you're fasting, having chia seeds in yogurt...can I surmise that you follow a keto diet? Looking for friends here to share and shoot the breeze. Your ticker looks similar to mine, so I thought I'd reply to your post. May I add you as a friend?
Mornin' All!
not much sleep here either - I set my alarm for 6:00 because I needed to finish up this 24-hour urine collection by 6:37, and I woke up around 6:10 frantic because my alarm never went off. Duh - I had it set for next week! Oh well - at least I woke up and was able to finish off the deed this morning. I'm usually at least AWAKE before then (although not necessarily out of bed), but it was probably 3:00 before I fell asleep last night, so... Anyway, I'll be dragging today! (not a good day to be dragging, either - I've got pretty much back-to-back things to do from 9:15 until around 6:00 pm (meetings, two appointments, my two classes, and biking with a friend).
QOTD: I had several - my 3rd and 5th grade teachers, both of whom I adored. They were super nice and also excellent teachers. My 7th grade science teacher, who was really into the environment and outdoor learning - I remember our class taking several walks in the neighborhoods near the school to identify leaves/trees, and he also took his classes to this week-long outdoor education place every year. Then in college I had this outstanding biology professor. Before then I never liked the genetics section of science/biology because I could not understand for the life of me how DNA/RNA worked, but when she explained it, it suddenly clicked. A whole new world opened up to me! (she really urged me to major in biology - and I should have listened!). Also, I had a great calculus professor. I dreaded taking calculus, but it ended up being one of my favorite classes in college. He, too, was great at explaining things and was a real hoot to boot! And lastly was one of my professors in my first master's program. Amazing woman. I'm still in touch with her - we're Facebook friends!
TSS: 5y4m
B: 1/2 a jumbo protein pumpkin muffin with Carbmaster cinnamon yogurt, coffee with half & half
MS: protein shake
L: turkey breast slices, 1/4 C sweet potato casserole
AS: maybe this protein Jello that I made last night for the first time (with protein powder and plain Greek yogurt)
D: not sure - maybe a vegan Thai-inspired vegetable "burger" on a skinny bun
have a great day, everyone!
the vegan burgers? No - got them at Aldi's! They aren't "burgers" in the sense that Impossible Burgers and Beyond Burgers are - they're just vegetable patties that come in a variety of flavors - chipotle, Thai, Asian. There's also one that's made of quinoa. I don't know that they're to everyone's taste, but I like them. I top them with sauces I make out of mixing plain Greek yogurt mixed with something appropriate - like a little adobo sauce with the chipotle one - and a Chinese chili sauce with the Thai and Asian ones (because ketchup and mustard wouldn't work with these!)

Good morning folks!
Not all to much planned today. I see my neurosurgeon at one this afternoon. I'm feeling uneasy about it. It'll be what it'll be though. I'm a natural born worrier! My cough is finally easing up. Thank goodness. I've been dizzy a lot lately when I get up. My blood pressure has been lowest but not too bad. The back and leg pain is getting to be pretty bad again. I'd say an 8 with my pain meds. I think that's why I'm apprehensive about my appointment today.
sorry for the griping...guess I needed to get it out lol.
qotd: I had no real great teachers. I fell through the cracks big time at every level.
