Has anyone had complications a few years out with internal hernias and obstructions. Going on my second surgery Monday, have gained lots of weight

without eating much, diagnosed within Hashimotos

I feel horrible as if I failed, even thinking of trying Stonaphyx. Has anyone done this?

desperate to lose weight again

What was your original surgery ?

Sleeve to RNY usually works pretty well as a revision for some folks who suffer persistent regain.

There are some folks whose bodies are just super efficient at processing food ( and usually its combined with a valid a medical reason for being unable to exercise much)

If you had an RNY there are pouch "reset " regimens that seems to work to shrink the tummy and restart the weight loss.

But you'll see that the vast majority of even post RNY posters here account for their food and daily movement - many find success with Weigh****chers .

The Rose procedure and Stomaphyx surgery seem to be very similar - a pleating device is inserted down your throat and the stitch line is re-stapled smaller.

I personally am a little scared of surgical staples long term- the metal remaining in the body and particularly what happens if the stomach is stretched out again- could the staple open and become a puncturing device that could cause internal bleeding maybe infections?

Also could food get trapped in the pleats and then rot ? Any irregularities like bumps in the colon can lead to rotting food and infections and serious problems ...

The thing is is you're out-eating your surgery now ... without fixing the " head hunger " you'll probably keep doing the same thing by resorting to binging to self medicate emotional issues.

I would try a therapist experienced in post WLS or addiction issues (or both ) first and be open to some medication- like perhaps a gentle antidepressant top help get you started exercising in the morning which really helps keep away cravings and results in permanent almost effortless weight loss.

Keep reading the main board here and the surgery board for your surgery ... you'll learn a lot from the successful posters how they actually banish regain day to day .

I had a Hiatal Hernia that was repaired when they went in... I have minimal reflux now but it's not as bad as it was before.
