What's on your Monday Menu?

I'm not into hugs all to much but I do miss hugs from my nieces and nephew...and a few other people. This whole thing has shown us how much we really value real human interaction. I miss it.

Good morning, happy Monday!

QOTD - Ready made protein shakes. I used to drink them so often, that I have sworn they will never touch my lips again. EVER. I can make much better tasting protein smoothies from fresh ingredients, that don't have all the chemicals in them.

Breakfast - fasting, so hot black coffee, water

Lunch - I'm in office, so of course I packed like I am going on an excursion. Lunch and snacks will be the following (in no certain order) - chickpea salad with triscuits, 1/4 bagel with pepper hummus, chik'n slider with vegan mayo and tomato cayenne vegan cheese, tofu/kale/soyrizo scramble with small side salad, apple, 1/2 PB&J, nectarine. (this is over a four hour period)

Dinner - Beyond burger with grilled onions/mushrooms/peppers and vegan chao cheese, with salad on side.

I hope you all have a great day!

Christina

Let it begin with me.

Morning! We had an okay weekend here. We mostly worked on organizing the garage and our 3rd floor, as my brother will be here to sleep in the guest room later this week. Yesterday our 5-year old cat peed on my daughter's carpet. She has NEVER done that before. Then she proceeded to poop in the middle of her bed. About a week ago now we introduced an auto-feeder that feeds her at 5am and 6pm. The other morning we woke to a crash and she had knocked over her litter box, I think because she's the most skittish cat ever and the auto-feeder had gone off while she was in it. So, I think she's scared of her litter box. We took the top off last night and shut her in the room with it (and her food/water). She had used it to this morning, but now I need to figure out how to clean cat pee which is terrifying. I ordered an enzyme cleaner on Amazon as step #1, step #2 will be having someone professionally clean it, and step #3 would be replacing the carpet. She better be glad I love her.

QOTD: Fage whole fat greek yogurt and smoked salmon. I can still eat the smoked salmon in sushi or probably could on a bagel (haven't tried) but I used to eat it with laughing cow cheese and I can't do it anymore because I ate it so much. The yogurt makes my stomach hurt pretty much instantly, but I ate it nightly for about 18 months.

My Food:

  • Coffee w/ Cream x3
  • Eggs, Sausage, Sweet Potato
  • Turkey Burger w/ Broccoli

she may just be stressed so what you did might resolve that. If it doesn't, I'd take her to vet to make sure there's nothing wrong. We had a cat do that once (who'd never done it before), and it turned out he had a urinary tract infection...

those enzyme cleaners work pretty well...

I put in a request to the vet's office to get an appointment too. I do think this is behavioral, but I will check to make sure it's not medical for sure!

I had a cat once who peed on a white bedspread. When I looked at it, there was a reddish look to the pee. I took her to the vet and she did have a urinary infection.

But your theory about her being in the litterbox when the feeder went off makes sense.

One of our kitties is having a similar issue. The enzymes really help to ride them from going in the same place twice, but he's just a nervous kitty and any little thing sets him off.

Good morning, everybody!

I don't know if I posted this, but it seems that my illness was a result of my body going into shock after the dental work that I had a couple of weeks ago. It would have been nice to have known that was a possibility. Bit the good news was that I wasn't contagious.

On Wednesday, I did something for the first time ever - stayed off the scale because I was afraid of how light I would be. One against 100,000 days of not wanting to know how heavy I was.

We did go to Wilamette, and it was beautiful. We rented an AIRBNB in a little town called Carlton, which was really cute. My friends retired officially at midnight on Wednesday. At 7:30, I had to leave the restaurant and go to bed. But I was able to toast the retirements!

Thursday we went to three tastings and again, I had to leave dinner and go to bed at 7:30. Fortunately, both restaurants were a short walk.

On Friday, we only did one tasting and went and stayed the night at my friend's beautiful house about an hour from Carlton. Friday, I stayed up all day and even made it to the fire pit! 10:30 folks!! The rest of the weekend was flights, couch, pizza, Roland Garros and football.

The Houndstooth bag finally came, and Marilyn loved it, so thanks, everybody for the input!

I haven't caught up entirely (hopefully, I will today) but 2 things: Kelly - congratulations on the new job! Madison Rose - fantastic picture, I'm so proud of you.

I know it's Monday, but I'm going to do pictures.

QOTD: maybe yogurt. I don't eat eggs much after surgery but I think that is because I didn't digest them well

Breakfast: PB toast

Lunch: sausage and cottage cheese

Dinner: Hello Fresh

Have a great day, all!

that wine looks great. I got really into wine a few years ago - took classes, joined a wine club, went to tastings - but then, surgery. I hardly ever drink it anymore (maybe a glass three or four times a year). I miss it...
