Good morning everyone. Hope that you're all doing well!

No plans for the day. We might go get a newspaper at the dollar store. My mom is wanting to make mashed potatoes for some reason so she wants canned milk.

qotd: If you had to change your name, what would it be, and why?

I love my great grandma's name Josephine. I like my name but if I had to change it that would be that.

b: oatmeal with banana and coffee

l: ham and green beans

d: ???

s: popcorn and ???

had to add this photo. I am the one in pink and no....we were not headed to prison! I laughed my arse off seeing it.

Good morning, Happy Sunday!

I have missed you guys. I've been down for the count with a 4 day migraine, and today is the first day it doesn't hurt to move my eyeballs.

QOTD - I would change my name to Rhiannon. It has forever been my most favorite name in the entire world, since I was little. Because Stevie Nicks, her mention of an old Welsh witch, I mean c'mon. I could use a little magic in my name.

Breakfast - fasting so hot black coffee, hot tea, cold unsweetened tea

Lunch - At this point, thinking kale/soyrizo/tofu scramble with vegan cheese. My old comfort, something quick and easy

Snack - Yogurt with chia seeds, pumpkins seeds

Snack - Smoothie (fruit, oat milk, hemp seed hearts, hemp seed protein, chia seeds)

Dinner - Gardein fishless filets, salad and some fries.

Have a great day everyone!

Christina

I have always practiced a bit of magic. Makes life more interesting.

There has been something on Facebook something like this:

The wife is upstairs and calls down to her husband, "Do you ever feel a strange pain in your back and neck like someone made a voodoo doll of you and is sticking pins in it?"

The husband yells back, "No".

The wife yells, "How about now?'

When you are Catholic you get to pick a name when you get confirmed. My name is Mary, which always seemed the most generic and boring name. I picked Elizabeth for my confirmation name. It was my mother's middle name. After my mother died and we saw her birth certificate we found out her middle name was really Ann. I guess she just picked the middle name she wanted and used it.

Thanks for starting us out again, Melody! Miss Lily and I will head out here in a minute for our first walk. Since I make her get up by 5:20 on work days,on the weekend we walk when she gets restless. We've got our first walk in now and will do more later if the weather holds. Accountability yesterday was good food wise but I didn't get all my steps in as it was raining all afternoon. At least I made good food choices though. Here's the food plan B 1/2c steel cut oats with protein and peanut butter L 3/4 c chili with cheese D 4 oz grilled shrimp. Trying to avoid a bedtime snack. QOTD I like my name even with all the "Karen" memes! Gonna post a before and after pic--just because. It's a gloomy day and I feel the urge to snack so I need the reminder. Stay safe everyone and make your best choices.

Mornin' All!

well I blew it yesterday. My weight is up 1.5 lbs since yesterday morning (which I know is mostly water), so I have to be really careful today. We've been discussing take-out dinner with the moms tonight since it's too cold to meet for our regular outdoor coffee this morning, so I'm probably just going to brown bag it or order an appetizer. I REALLY need to exercise since I didn't do it yesterday - but this cold - ugh. I may just have to bundle up and do it. I can't sit on my butt for another day. At least it's going to be back in the 60s this coming week...

no plans for today although I really need to do some reading for my classes. It's too tempting to just play on the internet and that's pretty much what I did for a huge chunk of the day yesterday.

QOTD: This question came up about 40 years ago in a class I was taking, and at the time I said "Elaine". I haven't thought about it since then, although I definitely would want a name that wasn't associated with a nickname. My legal name is Patricia, but no one calls me that. When I was little I was "Tricia", but I shortened it to "Trish" in high school because everyone called me that anyway. I really don't like the hassle of having a legal name and a "call" name that are different. Also, strangers, upon seeing my legal name (like at a bank or whatever), almost always call me "Pat", so I'm forever correcting them. It's not that there's anything wrong with the name "Pat", but it's not my name and never has been, and I get really tired of correcting people all the time. Another thing I don't like about my name is that it's a "fad" name. It was popular in the mid-20th century, but almost no one before or since has named their kid "Patricia". It automatically dates me.

TSS: 5y4m

B: homemade pumpkin Greek yogurt topped with 2 T light Cool Whip and 1/4 C fiber cereal. Coffee with half & half

MS: protein shake

L: cup of harissa chickpea soup and an AmyLu chicken sausage

AS: L&F yogurt with raspberries

D: ?? but something safe for sure!!

have a great Sunday, all!

I just read Karen's post - and it reminded me that I really like the name "Karen", too, and have often wondered why no one names their kid that anymore. It's another mid-century name like Patricia, but still, I love it and I'd name myself that if I could! I think it might originally be Scandinavian, but I'm not sure...

EDITED to add I just googled it. Yes - it's a version of Catherine and is used a lot in Germany and Scandinavia, where it's usually spelled Karin or Carin. I have a lot of distant cousins in Sweden named Karin (according to DNA test results), so that makes sense!

That makes sense because my dad's ancestors came from Germany.
