Your example's a timely warning for me, Kim to be more Covid-vigilant.
Since I've been away from my quarantining quite old an medically vulnerable Parents for a few weeks taking care of unavoidable business here up North
I've also taken advantage of the freedom to make daily face to face 12 step meetings, to shop more often, and even to go to the City with the intention of restarting doing a few of my artistic passions - like performing sculpting and painting .
I didn't really consider the serious risk I was taking .
I know I haven't been exposed ( ever) because I had to be tested to go up into a government building -so far . I don't want to bring this disease back to my Parents though or risk suffering the lasting effects which we really don't know yet what they are .
Yesterday I was asked to perform at a very well attended beach party / birthday . There were over a hundred adults there and a ton of little kids bouncing between adults and each other - there was absolutely no distancing or masks - and since we performed as a band - a ton of dancing .
There's a lot of nightlife resurgence now out here on Long Island - parking lot spontaneous dances house parties , live music and even restaurants Have reopened indoors ( and are super busy) .
This morning I agreed to speak at a large face to face NYC Artists Underearners 12 step meeting which I am an alumna of . It's held in a arena like room built like a clamshell for sound -and in the past every seat was filled . Now I'm scared ! Particularly of the hugs and handshakes afterwards?.
thanks for the warning - I'll think twice about taking risks now even though it feels so good to finally interact with people
