That's how I rationalize it to myself. I don't believe in book banning or anything like that but I can choose not to propagate them forward. And if someone does want to read them, that's what libraries are for!

Grim read a biography of Laura Ingalls Wilder's daughter who was the force behind publishing the books and oooooooh it makes it so much worse. He kept reading me the most cringe-worthy passages. Anyway, her politics were akin to Ayn Rand and had the books published as pro-America/Anti-Immigrant propaganda. I had no idea. Ugh--is nothing sacred?

I remember reading them as a very little girl (my gramma bought me a set) and I loved them. This is disappointing but not surprising I suppose. UGH!

Let it begin with me.

Ha, yeah sorry. I was shocked!

I half want to read the book myself because the parts he shared were fascinating, but I probably don't really want to know more...

In 2017 my mom was 95. She knew the end was near and almost nothing would hold her interest. She tended to want to just stare in space. I started reading the Little House books to her and it kept her engaged. The stories are so interesting and engaging. The do have those things that Laura's mother said about Native Americans. But that is how many people were raised back then. I enjoyed reading the books again after all these years.

Oh yeah, I would never give anyone grief for reading them and enjoying them (I still love them even when I cringe).

Do you make your own Falafel? I love it but have stayed away because I thought it was too Carby. I am hoping you have a low carb recipe.

No, one of our local chains sells theirs in the grocery store. I don't think they are too carby, 4 falafel is 86 calories, 14 carbs and 4 protein. It's lighter on protein but as a not very day thing, I'm good with it. (4 falafel is 2 servings though the # above reflect the two servings)
