What's on your Monday Menu?

GOOD MORNING EVERY ONE! Random funny store related to this meme... I have a set of Funko dolls of the Royal Family set up on the ledge behind where I sit in my office and they are visible during my zoom calls. My rambunctious cat is (for some unknown reason), obsessed ONLY with the Queen Mother. He goes out of his way to bat her around and knock her down, but he leaves the other ones alone. It doesn't matter where she is on the shelf. I think he might have issues with authority ;) Anyway, I was on a zoom call the other day and he was behind my head trying to knock her over, so I yelled at him to show respect for the Queen. He stopped for a sec, looked at me, then turned back and knocked her clear across the room. I have witnesses, haha.
Hope you all had a great weekend and that everyone is feeling better and the fires that popped back up are not in anyone's path. What a week we have all had! My weekend was nice-- haircut (yay!), visit with my parents, and then yesterday I went to a real estate open house with my BFF. The house right next door to us is for sale and we thought it would be great for her! It was a very nice weekend, but too many people--I really need to stop being so social and hunker back down. I am careful and masked when I am out, but I used to only do one thing out of the house a week (if that) and this weekend I saw 5 different goops of people and went to two stores. I've got to stop.
QOTD: Have you seen anything recently that you used to love, but does not hold up the way you thought it would? I was so disappointed after seeing The Little Mermaid, recently. I loved that as a teen and watched it a million times. But WOW the messaging for young girls is just terrible upon rewatch. Sell the most valuable part of your identity and give up your family for a hot guy you haven't even met, yet? Yikes. The John Hughes moves of my youth don't hold up very well either. Terrible messaging :(
Good morning all! Monday we meet again. JB do we get a pic of your new haircut on Friday?
I'm so sleepy this morning. It's going to be another busy work week. Have lots to get done. Had a meeting on Friday and was told we were approved for some overtime this week, but my boss wants to see if we can get it done without using overtime. So it's going to be busy busy. I'm going to see if I can leave work a little early on Friday since my brother has reservations at this restaurant downtown to celebrate our mom and his girlfriends birthday. He wants us all to meet at his house by 5 so I'll see if I can get off a few minutes early which shouldn't be a problem. I'm trying to be extra good these next few days so I can splurge a bit this Friday. This restaurant is known for their Mac and cheese dishes and I know I'm going to want to try some!
Accountability was good yesterday. Been very strict with my calories and trying to keep them around the 800 range. The scale is slowlyyyyy moving again. Currently I'm a little over 12 pounds from reaching my goal, but if I ever reach my goal I've already made up my mind that I want to keep going. Perhaps another 15-20 more pounds.
QOTD: Can't think of anything at the moment.
B: coffee w/Splenda & sf creamer x 2
B2: protein shake (premier protein mixed with a frozen banana)

You have been doing great on your loss. It is always much slower at the end but you know the routine!

You are at the point where weight loss is really hard, but you are not gaining yet, so hopefully there is still some malabsorption going on. I was at 30 months out when regain started happening. I commended you for making that extra effort to get to goal and also try to lose more as a cushion for regain.
Real life begins where your comfort zone ends
Having spent a lot of my career in places with labor unions, I can't help thinking what an announcement like that would have led to in a General Motors plant. There would have been a slowdown like none ever before and everyone would have worked overtime on the weekend.

Good morning and happy Monday! My weekend was good, got a bunch of tulip/crocus/allium bulbs (about 100+) planted so maybe I will have a riot of color come spring. Have to say that at the end, I just threw the last of the allium bulbs in a hole and covered them up. I mean, they are garlics, they've grown successfulLy on my counter.
qotd - the Little House books - I still love them but cringeworthy for sure. I also look at my Harry Potter books with sadness these days too.

The Native American depiction and commentary is not good, very very not good.
I still love them because childhood but I don't give them to anyone any more. When my oldest niece was born, I couldn't wait for her to be old enough to read them but not with any of the younger ones.

I'm really glad you mentioned about not giving them to anyone, because I had actually considered purchasing them for bonus daughter. This will be a hard pass for me. I will always love them as well because I grew up reading them, but...there's so many books to learn to love, I will find something else for her.
