What's on your (PHOTO) Friday Menu?
G'morning everybody!
Oops, sorry you guys are getting our smoke! See that sky? We had it that way for days and days.
Good news! DS's COVID test results were negative. So were his roommates'! Sigh of relief. He was very matter of fact. He said mom where do you think I would get C-19? I'm always in my room. If I'm going out I'm going surfing so I'm in the water, or skating. I have zero contact with anybody. It kinda made me sad but he didn't say it as if it was a bad thing that he is not connecting with anybody. When I pointed that to my husband he said I need to learn to see the positive and not always zero down on the negative and worry!
QOTD: I'm learning a new crochet stitch for the latest winter rave! It's a shawl with pocket. If you are part of any crochet group you'd know everybody is going crazy for this shawl. Do I sound old? LOL!
I can't think of a silly thing near me but this post came up just a couple of days ago. This is the FB page of my local area. Where else do you see people discussing shark sightings like they are puppies? Add to that the sentiment "it's nice to know our "friends" are still around!" Major eye roll.
My meals yesterday:
- B: Protein coffee
- L: jicama wraps + salsa chicken
- S: fage yogurt + 30 dark choc chips
- S2: PB filled pretzels - NOT planned
- D: 2 hb eggs
- E: 5 miles jog
Happy Fri-yay, everybody.

Mornin' All!
Bro and I are meeting my mom for coffee this morning, then we have a family dinner (at a Mexican place with outdoor dining) this evening. In between, I have my film discussion group (via Zoom) from 12:30-1:30, and I'll get a bike ride in there somewhere since it's beautiful biking weather (high 60s and sunny).
accountability was good yesterday. My weight is up this morning and I'm feeling bloated - no particular reason why, so it's probably jus****er. I'll order my usual 1-2 small, authentic tacos tonight at the restaurant, so it should be too hard to keep within my range.
QOTD: well I started studying Italian this summer but got away from it and haven't done it in awhile, so I'll need to pick that up again this fall - and probably go back to the beginning. I want to be able to know at least a little when we (finally) go to Italy next fall (Oct 2021 - this is our trip that was originally scheduled for this past May). It's much easier to travel if you can do things like read menus, signs, and ask for directions (and kind of understand the response). Anyway, other things I've picked up lately: hosting Zoom Webinars (this is still very new to me - at least the hosting part), biking, kayaking. I've also started gourmet cooking again recently. I did that pre-surgery but really haven't done much fancy cooking of any kind since surgery five years ago.
TSS: 5y3m
B: farro topped with plain Greek yogurt and Swerve - and maybe diced mango. Coffee with half & half
MS: Fit Frappe
L: leftover (1/4 C) couscous, a couple slices of turkey breast, and some of the Indian sauce from the dish I made the other day
AS: probably L&F yogurt with raspberries - and maybe a light English muffin with light cream cheese if I can afford the calories
D: 1-2 tacos (meat, cilantro, onion on a 4" corn tortilla)
My brother took this the other morning when we were out biking. Wild turkeys seem to have taken over in our city the last few years (I'm really not as heavy as I look in this picture - I think it's my hunched-over body position. Plus the fact I have no waistline (I'm a "rectangle" shape) and I've developed a lot of leg muscle from all the bike riding I'm doing doesn't help with this perspective...)
oh yea -- I know I'm not heavy. But this particular angle capitalizes on my lack of a waistline (and makes me look bigger than I am - and bigger than in pics taken from more flattering angles!! ) (my measurements are 36-34-38 - almost a perfect rectangle! All three plastic surgeons I had consults with said there wasn't much they could do about that - it's just the way I'm built. Oh well - I'm in good company. Gwyneth Paltrow is a rectangle, too!)
We are our own worst enemies. You don't look heavy at all and muscular legs are a plus!

I never thought I would be happy to say it's raining, but I am. This should clear out the smoke, at least for now. But there was thunder and lightning last night, so I hope it didn't start any more fires.
I have a blood test this morning, so I've been fasting. Hopefully all of my levels are good.
QOTD- I've had to learn about Smartsheet, it is not a program that I would recommend. Personally I think Excel does just as well and is much easier to use. Or they could import the information to Access and create queries etc and it would be more useful.
So glad it's Friday, not that the weekend makes much difference. At least I'll be able to get out if the smoke is gone.
Have a great Friday everyone!

Good morning! Yesterday was a blow out at work, and I left whipped and exhausted. At home, I spent about 20 minutes doing yoga and then I poured myself 6 ounces of wine. 3 more than my usual once or twice a week glass. Then dinner upset my stomach, as I guessed it would. So I curled up in a ball and zoned on Deadliest Catch until I could reasonably go to bed. I am so looking forward to having a better evening at home tonight, and only need to do a little grocery run this weekend. The weather is supposed to truly break today, and I am looking forward to taking the dogs for a walk tomorrow. Also maybe another Youtube yoga class. My niece called last night to chat and insists I need to try "Yoga with Adrienne". Maybe I will try her first class.
QOTD: I. Will. Learn. To. Crochet. Dammit. I'm trying and doing a lot of unraveling, but I am not giving up. I bought a book for left handers, and that has helped. I completed a pair of baby booties. Now to be honest, I made a total of 4 of them because they were different sizes. But I'm kind of happy with the pair I kept and did not unravel. Need to send them off this weekend too. I'm trying to get a good base of crochet to keep my hands busy, and next I have my eye on the Cri-cut, but think I will wait until the black Friday sale that usually happens.
Photo's today. This guy in my neighbor's yard, that gets dressed for occasions and my boys, wishing we could go out on a walk. But at 108, the concrete is just too hot, so I had to tell them no. About a billion times. The black one (Cash) can whine like a overtired two year old kid!!
Peace everyone!!! Have a wonderful weekend.

Supershopper (one of our group here), I believe, is a real fan of Yoga with Adrienne. I've done a couple of her youtube videos as well and liked them. I really should get back to yoga. I used to do it two or three times a week, but I've gotten out of the habit. I think I got a bit "yoga'd out" when I was in India last fall - but it's been almost a year. Time to get back to it!
