What's on your (PHOTO) Friday Menu?
Mornin' All!
JB - crime has picked up around here as well. People are stressed, people have lost their jobs, evictions will likely start up if the city doesn't pitch in to stop it - never a good thing. And it'll likely be like this for awhile, unfortunately.
I watched the lectures for my online classes yesterday and did some of the readings. I really like both classes. I'm taking one called "The Middle East in the 20th Century" and the other is on the Vietnam War. The professor who teaches the second one is nationally known and did a lot of research on CIA shenanigans during the Vietnam War (secret prisons, heroin trafficking, etc) - he's written books and has testified to Congress. He was also consulted during the Abu Ghraib torture situation a few years back - lots of parallels to what was going on in the secret prisons in Southeast Asia in the 60s/70s, so he suspected there may have been some CIA involvement in the Middle East prisons at that time. Anyway, he's 75 years old, so I figured I'd better take the class now while he's still teaching...otherwise, i may never get the chance.
so today I have to "host" a dress rehearsal for an upcoming Zoom lecture. The real "show" is next Friday. This basically means I'll be running the software in the background while the presenters present. I've done it for small, informal meetings before - but nothing like this. I'm a little nervous, so I'm glad we're doing this dress rehearsal. I'm sure I'll get the hang of it - but there's always the risk of things like internet connection issues - but it's not like anyone has much control over that! Nothing else on the agenda today, but I'll get some outdoor exercise as it'll be really nice again today (and tomorrow...), with thunderstorms the rest of the weekend.
QOTD: yes - we've had a few go under, a handful that I'm really sad about.
accountability was great yesterday, weight is lower than it's been in months. Hopefully this isn't a fluke...

Good Morning JB and Menuers,
JB you enjoy this day to the fullest. It's so well deserved. I love the photo of the Black Lives Matters painted on the street. I do not think they have this any where in Pittsburgh. All we have is the Lt Governor and Governor trying to pass a recreational Marijuana bill to help with the economy. These officials are just bird brains I swear.
Well at least yeah for Friday and a 3 day weekend. I hope I can be strong through the holiday. I know exercise will be fine but I have a feeling I am going to have grazing problems considering I have not ben able to wrangle in the snacking this week. I have dinner plans out with friends tonight. JB you got me in the mood for scallops and they usually run them as a special on the Holliday weekend. Fingers crossed they will be on the menu tonight.
QOTD: A few nostalgic restaurants have closed. None that I frequent have closed yet. I'm hoping they lift the bands on these establishments soon so we do not loose anymore.
Accountability: I snacked on Dill popcorn , peanuts, One chocolate chip cookie, and some popcorn M&M'S and maple oreos.

I'm so happy for the three day weekend. I have a few small projects, some gym time and maybe a little football watching. But just sleeping in and relaxing for the most part.
Marilyn and my daughter leave tomorrow night, so it will be just the two of us for a couple of days.
Pictures - Kettlebell Cake Pops. I didn't try one, but DD said they were yummy.

Good morning, happy Friday! I'm off today and Monday, and really looking to squeeze the most out of a four day weekend.
QOTD - Yes, but mostly little local places that didn't adapt as quickly or as well, either due to lack of knowledge or lack of desire to do so. It sucks. I love supporting local.
Breakfast - fasting, so water and hot black coffee
Lunch - polenta, soyrizo, kale scramble with vegan Chao cheese
Snack - Toast with avocado butter, peanut butter, pom jelly and chia seeds
Dinner - NO idea. Thinking if hubs and MIL want chick fil a, I can grab one of their salads (with no chicken or cheese). They have pretty good salads.
Have a good day everyone!

Christina, figs are ruined for me!!!
After your post yesterday, I googled it and watched a couple of videos! OMG, I didn't know!
The only saving grace is that they say most figs in the US are the non pollinating type. Still, yuck!
