What's on your Wednesday Menu?

Morning everyone! Ok, last night after my 3rd week in a row of insane work hours and stress, I finally admitted to my boss that things aren't working out with my new assistant. We came up with a last plan to address it, and if things don't dramatically turn around... well... hopefully we won't have to go there. But in more positive news, I have a pretty quiet day today! Woot! I am going to force myself onto a "normal" 8 hour schedule, dammit.
I probably didn't eat one thing that was on my menu yesterday, either. I don't think it was a complete disaster, but I didn't follow my own plan at all. I was stressed about time and just did a lot of grab and go food from the fridge instead of taking the time to make a real meal. Plus I was just insatiable... blergh. Better today. Plus today's weather is going to be gorgeous--crisp and cool so I hope to go for a nice loooooong walk :)
QOTD: Do you own any interesting antiques? Living with Grim is fun--we live in his family home and our attic and basement are just filled with fun unexpected treasures. This week he has been doing some basement reorganization and found a few really old tin circus piggy banks and an old ceramic cookie jar--they are awesome. I will post pics on Friday!!

QOTD - I don't believe so. I have some china passed down but its put away because I know it would get broken as soon as I pulled it out. Maybe I will bring it out as a surprise for the kids sometime soon. How neat to discover treasures in an old family home. Have they triggered any old memories for him?
I have been averaging about OMAD due to some medical issues. I try to get as much protein as I can comfortably eat in at that time. It usually has meat, baked potato, some cheese, more cheese. A few bites...until I am full or uncomfortable, even. I don't overeat but it will still sometimes just hit me like a ton of bricks so that tells me I need to slow it down. I am not overeating because I am aware of how much I plate; however, it feels very uncomfortable but I feel like I need to do this to try to the weight loss down. My weight has been steadily dropping due to this. I am not underweight at this time but I right on the line (again). I have been focusing on staying hydrated. I know I need to do better with vitamins etc. I really just honestly still struggle with all of it.
I am so sorry for all your struggles. However I have seen people loose teeth hair and have all kind of issues when not taking the vitamins. Hope you can get on a better schedule getting them in. My brother has lost at least 1/3 of his teeth due to the fact he has not kept up on the vitamins. I know you probably all ready know the consequences of not taking them. I just want to remind you because you deserve to be healthy.

I appreciate your kind yet firm warning. I wish that it was emphasized more on some of the bariatric forums or social media. I get really angry when I see people who have had WLS tell others that "they didn't take vitamins and they are fine" ...oh, don't get me started, lol. My bones were weak and I was borderline anemic when I had WLS. I am sure you might imagine how things are several years later with the nutritional complications. I will always advocate for people to take their vitamins despite whatever shortcomings I may experience on a personal level. (I am working on towing the line.)
Good morning all! Another busy day today. Tomorrow I have a dentist appointment bright and early in the morning to get my cavity filled. Ugh I'm dreading that, but I've always been a big baby when it comes to the dentist. The plan was to start work right after as soon as I got back home, but I think I'm just going to take the whole day off and relax since I've been so busy and stressed. Plus I need to clean my house since I have company coming Friday evening. My accountability yesterday wasn't as good as Monday but still pretty decent. Today I'm hoping will be even better. Damn scale is playing with my head going up and down.
QOTD: Hmmm...not too much, although I do have a mahogany claw foot dining room table that is pretty old. Belonged to my grandmother before she passed. I remember seeing that old table everytime we went to her house as a child, but she used it to display family pictures....I remember it being filled with pictures of her children, grandchildren, old wedding pictures etc. Never actually thought I'd end up with that table. I love it though! Other than that, I just have some odds and ends pieces of furniture that my mom and I picked up from thrift stores and antique shops.

Good morning, Happy Wednesday.
QOTD - I have a Hoosier cabinet in my kitchen. It's from 1927, completely intact. It even has the cobalt blue (original) jars that go in the little carousel. It was a gift from my mother in law, when we moved into this house. She even framed a page from the Saturday Evening Post, from 1926 that is advertising this new model of Hoosier. She has carried this thing with her for over 44 years, since she had it before husband was born. It fits here perfectly, and she said she knew it was something she kept for so long for a reason. She is WAY too good to me, and I love her. Like JB, I will post a picture Friday.
Breakfast - fasting so hot black coffee, cold water
Lunch - not sure yet. Either salad, tofu/kale scramble or chickpea salad on toast. I have options
Snack - fruit smoothie (Frui****er, kale, chia seed, hemp seed protein)
Dinner - I am thinking either snackie stuff (soup, pasta, easy) or dinner out. I woke up tired.
Have a great day y'all.
Christina
Let it begin with me.

I love anything that makes a home more organized. Hoosier cabinets were so great for that. You can still have one custom made today. They were first made in Indiana in the late 1800's.
Hoosier is a kind of cool word used to refer to people and objects from Indiana. Two of the guesses of what it means were someone yelling across the river "Who's there?" There was also a story that someone got into a barroom fight and lost his ear. Someone picked up the ear and yelled "Whose ear?"
