Good morning! Back at my desk. Going to be very short staffed until Friday, so I'm not sure to wish for a slow week and watch it drag, or a crazy one and just get it over with. Grocery shopping finally happened. But not Trader Joe's. It's in the mid/high 90's here, and our humidity is up, and the line to get in to TJ both times we tried had to have been 50 families long, separated by 6 feet. I'm like, uh, no, I don't need Crispbreads that much. I did tons of prep work yesterday for food stuff and froze things in appropriate proportions. I love having a ton of options.

QOTD: I'm using up my expensive Biotin shampoo and conditioner, then going back to the normal stuff. I've been lightening my hair for like 30 years, and have had damage issues in the past. I wanted to do everything I could to support it post surgery, so I started with oral liquid Biotin before surgery, and started using Nioxin shortly after surgery. I am not sure if it's the reason why, but I experienced very little hair loss, and my stylist says I am past the point of the surgery impacting my hair. So I'll go back to regular volumizing shampoo when these bottles are empty.

Menu:

B: 1/2 PP shake and coffee -- Emipie egg salad

L: spaghetti squash w/2 ounces Korean BBQ beef

D: TJ broccoli and beef on spaghetti squash for me, on rice for the hubs (SO happy to get this bag out of my freezer. It's taking up too much room and it's been in there for months!)

S: beef jerky if needed.

Peace Everyone!

Good morning! It is good that you unplugged for the weekend. DSD didn't as she was working until about 7:30 on Friday night and on the phone for several hours on Saturday. I had a busy social weekend with Mike, visiting family and friends.

It is overcast and muggy here at 10:45 but hopefully the sun will peek out a bit more later when I go kayaking. Mike is coming here for the day and I am cooking him dinner.

Accountability: I don't usually report on this, but man did I overeat last night. Dinner wasn't so bad, but the cupcakes afterwards!!

QOTD: I use TRESemmé Keratin Smooth Color Shampoo and conditioner. I like it a lot and it is fairly inexpensive.

TSS: 4 years, 5 months

B: Coffee! Egg and laughing cow cheese

L: Deli chicken

D: Crab cakes and broccoli

S: lemon blueberry yogurt pie

Good Monday morning everybody!

I have decided enough is enough feeling sorry for myself. Especially after the weekend evacuations north of us. A lot of folks ended up in our area for shelter. Churches, community colleges and swim centers opened up their doors for shelter. And the flip side of the coin, the f'ing golf course near us with TONS of parking space kicked out a family who had parked in the end of the parking lot. I hope the golf course doesn't need the community's help if something happened, because nobody is gonna lift a finger. We gathered some stuff: sleeping bags, air mattresses, the pumps, snacks and water and took them down to the shelters. Didn't realize how many sleeping bags we had, result of too many sleepovers in this house.

Also, I am giggling because with DH we can go back to eat meat now that DS is not here. When he became vegetarian I refused to be a short order cook and cook two meals (I hate cooking anyway) so most meals were vegetarian and I'd use the ready meals from TJ for my meats. But now I can go get our usual meats: chicken, ground turkey, pork shoulder to make our favorite meals. I haven't been giddy about cooking in I don't know how long.

QOTD: since I got my hair cut and trying to take care of the curls I'm using the Tea Tree Tingle shampoo and conditioner from TJ. DD says it lacks something - can't remember what - so it doesn't dry/damage curls.

My meals today:

  • B: coffee + scrambled eggs
  • L: tuna + Hb eggs
  • S: WW cheesecake & strawberries
  • D: ground turkey and veggies
  • E: Air quality is still bad here so no outside running. I'll do an hr of elliptical while cussing at the news.

Have a great Mon everybody.

Good morning,

Hope everyone had a nice weekend and i agree- a short Monday. I had a good weekend and tackled a bunch of cleaning projects that were long overdue! I was very productive and got a bunch of stuff checked off the list. i was exhausted by the end of the day, but it felt good to finish.

QOTD-I am suave girl too. I don't wash my hair much, I have a big head of thick curly unruly hair that I have spent a lifetime fighting with...I recently switched hair dressers and he has convinced me to just let it be wild and curly and use good product and wash once a week...I don't love it, but I am ok with it.

B-Eggs, black beans on a low carb burrito

L-tomato sandwich- the only thing I like about summer coming to an end-the home grown tomatoes freshly picked from the garden!!!

D-Meatballs and sauce for me add spaghetti for Tim

have a great day.

Hi everyone. Its rare that I get on during the week these days- but what better way to avoid work responsibility! The QOTD motivated me to hop on, ironic since I'm 85 % bald. My oldest (17) is away for a few days with friends at the Jersey shore. He's literally been home since march, I think he earned this outing.

QOTD: A teeny weenie hotel sample size bottle of shampoo will last me well over a year LOL. Its amazingly freezing to not be a product junkie. (Frees up cash to become other types of junkie- i.e.- wigs). Since I'm the only girl in my house the guy's shampoos are a little to manly for me. But I've been making do with hotel samples.

Meals today

Meal 1: Cinnamon toast w/fruit spread and Greek yogurt with strawberries

Meal 2: Salad with tuna pouch & boiled egg

M3: bag of pretzels

m4: leftover meatballs & cheese

60 sit-ups done!

I laugh every time I look at Grim's shampoo bottle. It's dark, grey, very rectangular, and says things like "clean technology". While all of my bottles say, "balanced" "soothing" "care" and "nourish". I mean oooookay... I really don't think the hair on your head knows if you have a penis, but they sure market it that way.

Have you noticed the antiperspirant industry is the same? For girls it's lavender, lilac, jasmine, baby powder. For guys it's swagger (DS's favorite just because of that word), wolfthron, sweat defense (can it get any more basic?), acqua reef.
