Finding a counselor that specializes in eating disorders has helped me. It can take a few attempts to find one that works for you. It took the 3rd counselor to find a match for me. She also does a lot of WLS patients which is a huge plus for me. I see her on zoom and in person when allowed. I journal everyday and send it to her before my appointment.

for me...expecting perfection was setting me up for failure. It was usually all or nothing for me. She said if you drop your phone and it doesn't break you don't try to break just because you dropped it. That analogy has helped me a lot! If I eat one thing off plan I don't need to throw the rest of the day in the trash.

That is a great analogy and very true! I really need to look into counseling as I know it would probably help me a great deal. I haven't been since pre-op so I need to get back on that. Thank you!

hi all

foodwise Saturday was off kilter and I just made it a very unusual eat what you want day and forget the rest. scale up 2 pounds, but its fine. yesterday I went to gym and walked treadmill there to get some steps in and we ran a few errands at the store. about 1/2 the people in Walmart were not wearing masks. :(

QOTD: my most favorite of course are the ones you can't find anymore because they no longer make or they only sell in countries like Germany where I don't frequent. The first was made by Revlon- called outrageous. it was highly perfumed and was sooo good. Second is a german brand called timotei - bought over there and love it.

food plan today:

b: oat/chia/egg whites

b2: shake?

l1: swai/veggies from last night

l2: swai/veggies

d: chicken/veggies

s: protein pancake

OH- and I'm getting an iron infusion Thursday! yay!!!

Good morning!

QOTD - I use different things but all super high quality, super expensive stuff. Because I buy it? NO. My sister has been a stylist for 16 years, my daughter for about 8 years, and they always hook me up with "try this, or try that...". I also use cold water only.

Breakfast - fasting, so hot coffee, lots of water

Lunch - Giant salad (lettuce, tomato, diced apples, olives, chia seed and pepitas) with crackers

Snack - last homemade tortilla from yesterday with kale/tofu/soy scramble

Snack - fruit smoothie. Frozen frui****er, kale, banana, hemp seed protein and chia seeds

Dinner - Gardein "chikn" sandwich with vegan mayo, vegan cheese, and veggie on side.

Have a great day everyone!

Cold water does lock the cuticle in place and make the hair super shiny. Each hair has a cuticle layer that is like tree bark. If you use warm water, then it stays rough. I learned very young though, that some people cannot handle the cold water rinse. Especially those with painful sinuses.

Fun fact, I wash my hair in the kitchen sink, and...South Texas so its hot! However, this does change in the winter, so! Then, I normally use lukewarm at least.

That seems much less cold than my doing it in the shower! It honestly never occurred to me.

Good morning, everybody!

We are back from Colorado. I flew out with my son last Saturday. It was my first flight in the COVID environment. It was also the first time that I had to wear a mask for the more than the few minutes that it takes to run into the store. I am sympathetic to those who've to wear them all day at their work.

The actual move-in was Sunday morning. It was actually pretty easy - just drive up to the dorm and student volunteers unpack the car and bring everything up to the rooms. Then I could go up with him to help unpack. Once the initial unpacking was done, only dormitory residents were allowed in the dorm.

Marilyn drove out with my son's computers and monitors and we were able to get those unpacked on Tuesday, as well as a few meals and helping our son with certain things for registration, etc. We tried to strike a balance between letting him have time to meet people and getting to see him before we left.

We drove home Thursday and Friday.

QOTD: that which is already in the shower.

Breakfast: protein bar

Lunch: bratwurst

Dinner: Hello Fresh

Have a great day, all!

Sounds like everything went smooth for you. So glad it went well. I agree with your sympathy for those who need to wear masks all the time. DH had a small procedure to have metal extracted from his finger and I was there for 3 1/2 hour and my ears were killing me.

I have seen some neat solutions for people who wear masks all day. Things like a headband with buttons to hold the mask. Much more comfortable than on the ears.
