Morning everyone! Happy Monday!

I hope you all had a great weekend! I had a nice few days... I unplugged from work, which was good because I was feeling really stressed and upset on Friday. I need to take it slow today. The rest of the weekend was nice. I met up with my old professor, ran some errands, and we binged a fun new show on Netflix called, 'Teenage Bounty Hunters'--10/10 recommend :)

We've had some wild rain storms over the last two days. Luckily no damage here, and we finally got some much needed rain. More high heat humidity and storms are expected today, too. It looks like a horror film outside this morning--thick foggy air that is making outside look very creepy!

QOTD: What is your favorite shampoo/conditioner? I have been using a really expensive Keratin shampoo/conditioner from the salon for years. But since I couldn't go to the salon during lockdown, I picked up a bottle of cheap Suave Keratin shampoo and it's been great! I am not going to get the expensive stuff again--apparently it's not worth it! I do still love the salon conditioner, though!

Good morning and happy Monday! Sadly, my Monday is extra long, on top of the normal work day, I have a two hour call tonight with our Asia team that starts at 7 PM my time. I'm not complaining, my poor colleagues there usually end up on 11 pm or 2 am calls to accommodate our east coast/European teams.

Qotd - I don't use anything special but I do try to stick to the color treated options. My hair dresser says to only wash your hair with cold water and that makes the color last longer, plus cold water makes your hair shiny.

i was talking to one of the woman in my Pilates class over the weekend, she's a teacher at one of the online schools - said her 4th grade class was 32 last year and she's ups to 70+ this year and was told to expect to end up about 80. I can't imagine that.

menu today

protein waffle with peanut butter

deli ham in a cheese wrap

grilled turkey tenderloin

light and fit greek

Have a fantastic day all!

Oh no, I could never wash my hair in cold water. Even when I am boiling hot, I can't take cold showers. I need the water to be scalding (3rd degree burn scalding)... under every cir****tance!

Lol, I've done the final cold water rinse since high school but switching to shampoo and condition in cold was an adjustment. I'm very alert afterwards!

I quit the cold water rinse years ago. My mother lived until 95 and always rinsed her hair in cold water and would remind me that I needed to do that too.

Ouch, cold water? I had heard rinsing in cold water, but the whole wash? I'm shivering just thinking about it.
Also, how did the poor teacher end up with 70+? Are they merging classes? As if the teachers were no overworked already!!!

They need a better union--our schools would never allow that student:teacher ratio!

It's a public school but I think it's run by for profit administration and I'm not sure if the teachers are unionized? But, either way, unions are very weak in Colorado for the most part.

It took some getting used to and creating the right routine where I get warm enough and then do it and then warm up again!

i feel really bad for the teachers, the parents and the kids right now!

Mornin' All!

it's supposed to be a scorcher week (90+ every day), so I'll need to do most things in the mornings. I have bike rides with friends today and tomorrow. Nothing on tap yet the rest of the week, although I want to go kayaking one morning if I have a willing partner (and I just noticed about an hour ago that our school district offers an intro to kayaking class every Tues and Thurs afternoon from now until the end of Sept! YIPPEE! (they have various funsie classes for kids and adults throughout the year - art, exercise, etc). The kayaking classes are from 4-6 p.m., so maybe not this week - but next week for sure if the weather is cooperative!

QOTD: I used to just use Suave - one of the "humectant" ones because I have such dry hair, but then I switched to something my hairdresser uses. Can't remember the name off-hand. I used up all the shampoo (still have the conditioner, though), so I picked up some new shampoo at Sally's - different brand but similar kind of stuff. It was BOGO the day I got it, so the price wasn't too outrageous. But in both cases, the products came in quart-sized bottles (or maybe larger...), so they last forever.

TSS: 5y2m

B: last piece of peach yogurt pie (YAY! Will not be making this one again. I've learned through my experimenting that the lemon/blueberry and the cheesecake one are definitely the best!). Coffee with half & half.

MS: both of the friends I'm bike riding with (today and tomorrow) like trips that include an iced latte destination, so that. I'll order it with 2% milk and SF syrup.

L: Caprese salad

AS: L&F yogurt with raspberries, maybe a light English muffin with light cream cheese

D: either a vegan "burger" or a tomato sandwich (hooked on these lately...). Cole slaw made with peanut dressing. And some kind of protein (another L&F yogurt? Or maybe a couple of baby bel cheese thingies?)

ex: biking. I should probably do either weights or yoga as well. The goal is to do both of those twice a week, and I've been a failure at that!!

have a great day, everyone!
