What's On Your Saturday Menu?
People truly not sleeping at all? I thought I had read that people couldn't live without sleeping. There is some disease that causes people to not sleep enough and I think they end up with all kinds of issues? (Of course this is something I read a long time ago so who even knows if it is valid)
ETA: The disease I was thinking of is Fatal Familial Insomnia. And from what I read the longest anyone has gone without sleeping in a sleep study was 11 days and the person started hallucinating ultimately.

I remember a Reader's Digest article years ago about a man who claimed he never slept but lived a normal life otherwise. I googled that earlier and his name was Al Herpin. He died in 1947 in New Jersey. He was 94 years old. I have always read Reader's Digest cover to cover and learned a lot of interesting things through the years.
Real life begins where your comfort zone ends
I need to read about him!

Hi weekenders!!
we're on our way to outlets. I need two new sports bras, my son need clothes (quarantine 15...) and we'll peep the Le Creuset (sp?) outlet for cookware. Our new house has an induction cooktop and many of our pans are incompatible.
I did my run today. I'm also doing a sit-up challenge-- 60 a day. I need to do today's set. I did get my labs back and my ferritin 11. Last November it was 12. I should have got serious about my iron supplements them but I didn't. By February I was seeing the effects on my running. I am religiously taking my iron now- and will retest when I see my bariatric doc in October. If it's no better I'll Ask about an infusion. I do feel an improvement in my overall fatigue and running performance.
qotd: waiting. In traffic, lines, on responses to act. I'm patient, but get aggravated by the inherent inefficiency of waiting.

Oh yeah - waiting can be so frustrating!

oh yea - 11 is really low. My surgeon recommends infusions when it gets below 20 - but some people want/need them when their level is even higher than that.
mine has never dropped below 20, but I noticed a downward trend about a year ago. I started taking more of my oral supplement to see if it worked. For some people, it doesn't -- they have to get the infusion anyway - but in my case, my ferritin level DID increase - so it's worth a try!
Hey Shauna,
Just wanted to chime in for the induction cook top. I have it and it's GREAT. The water in the pot boils in less than 90 seconds. We make a lot of pasta in this house and it's been a snap.
About le creuset : I bought one item and it's sitting in the bottom drawer. It's too heavy for every day use. Sure they are pretty, but holy moly the weight.
I suggest emeril pro-clad; perfect for induction, light, I've had them for about 10 years and they still look like new.
I have some chef friends who swear by le creuset and actually like the hefty-ness of the pans and pots. Infact they don't like my light weight pots, so I guess it depends on personal preference. Just wanted to let you know about this line because I did a lot of research before buying them and I'm very happy with them.
Enjoy your new cooktop.
