What's On Your Saturday Menu?
Good morning! It is going to be a muggy day today - back to summer at least for a bit.
Busy day for me: Mike is coming late morning to meet my younger DD, go to lunch then a beach walk. Late afternoon we are going to see family visiting Cape Cod from Oregon (all properly covid tested as is required in Massachusetts).
QOTD: What wastes the most time in your day to day life? I think it is sleeping! We have to do it, but it takes up 1/3 of one's life. I probably would have said work prior to retirement
TSS: 4 years, 5 months
B: Coffee! WW banana and egg pancake
L: Shrimp
D: unknown - family gets together
S: lemon blueberry yogurt pie (when I get home maybe)

Good morning Liz and thanks for getting us started! Hope you have a fantastic day ahead!
Today I hope will be boring! I was in a pretty bad mood by late day yesterday. Had a cousin drop by who has drank alllll the crazy kool-aid and we had an exchange. Not bad but I just don't get it. Dealing with that crap always gets me in a bad mood. Like I can't help them....they choose to be stupid! Sorry...not sorry.
My stomach has been a little upset the past few days. I couldn't finish my lunch yesterday as it just made me feel so so icky. I've decided to not buy frozen meals anymore and make my own. So many of them have cheese in them and I think that may be a culprit in my upset stomach. I don't have any left so that's good. Now to figure out what to make! Ha.
qotd: trying to sleep for me! That and my iPad.
b: slice of toast, egg, banana and a small cappuccino
l: Small omelet, daiya cheese, cherry tomatoes and onion...maybe a quest chips
d: salad with baked salmon or lettuce wraps with salmon...not sure which!
s: popcorn, strawberries or kiwi and ???
Mel
Mornin' All!
Feeling really bloated again this morning - WTH? Oh well, at least it'll keep me in line with eating since I HATE feeling like this! Maybe it'll last the whole day!! I didn't overeat yesterday (nor the day before), so I'm guessing sodium or artificial sweeteners are the culprit...
we're supposed to get thunderstorms tonight which will usher in some super hot weather for the next few days (90+), so we'd better enjoy today! We're planning to bike over to a coffee place the next town over this morning, and hopefully kayak this afternoon (my friend's husband can't go now due to a family issue, but I think I've talked DH into going - YAY!)
Liz - I am so happy that things with Mike are working out so well! I'm still on Bumble (in the BFF mode, but not having much luck with that - evidently more people use it for dates), but I occasionally I jump over to the Date mode just because I'm curious to see who's out there. There have been a handful that I probably would have initiated contact with if I was in the market. I felt kind of bad swiping "no" on them because if cir****tances were different I would have swiped yes, but then, I'm not available. But at least I know there are people out there if anything ever happened to DH. You kind of wonder about that given our age, but yes - there are definitely folks out there!!!
QOTD: I used to think the same thing about sleeping - what a huge waste of time! But now I have another - surfing! (email, Facebook, looking things up - pretty much everything!). A third of my life is spent sleeping, but I think another third is spent online! I do worry sometimes that my life is frittering away while I'm doing stupid things on the internet!
TSS: 5y2m
B: a piece of yogurt pie with 2 T light Cool Whip, coffee with half & half
MS: probably an iced latte at the coffee place - with 2% milk and SF syrup
L: tomato sandwich (on Fit & Active bread), cottage cheese
MS: L&F yogurt with raspberries, maybe a skinny bagel with cream cheese, too
D: Costco chicken skewer, cole slaw with peanut dressing, maybe an elote-style ear of corn
(this is pretty much the same menu as yesterday, but that's fine!)

Good morning everyone! Hope you all have a great Saturday -- I slept for about 10 hours last night, making up for that 1:17 am wake up, lol.
QOTD - not being able to teleport is the biggest waste of time; think of all the time you'd have back if getting to and from everywhere was instantaneous! Although it would be even worse for my podcasts and audiobooks than work from home is!
menu today is
Coffee and half and half X3
scrambled eggs with cheddar
cottage cheese or a L&F
fajita fixings, no tortilla or chips
maybe some berries in the evening.
Have a great day!

Good morning all! It was so nice being able to sleep in this morning. Well I wasn?t too pleased with my instacart experience yesterday. Not only did I not get everything on my list (which I don?t fault my shopper for...if they?re out of something they?re out...no big deal), but the refrigerated items I did get like my yogurt and turkey burgers were warm. I?m not even sure they are still good. In the past since using this service, my refrigerated items have always been cold. Last but not least, I ordered nectarines and I got peaches. I understand that they look very similar, but you can feel the peach fuzz on these and they all had little stickers on them that clearly read peaches. Sigh... I guess it?s a good thing I like peaches too. Ok end of rant. Lesson learned....if I want something done right I just need to do it myself.
Accountability was pretty good yesterday. It was definitely a small pouch day so I?m hoping that continues today! Finally losing again! Down 6 ounces this morning....hoping this trend continues as well.
QOTD: definitely mindlessly surfing the internet, reading the news and watching YouTube videos....looking up recipes etc. I could be doing so many more important things!
B: coffee w/Splenda x 2
B2: premier shake and a slice of Ezekiel cinnamon raisin toast
L: tuna pouch and a few raw baby carrots
D: Not sure yet
S: L&F yogurt and fruit
Surgery: RNY on 1/23/19
Good morning!
Another hot day here but I am finally going to make it to the grocery store! It's actually been good for us to not go. Cleaning out the freezer and staples in the cabinet. Got just a couple things on my to do list today. Other than that I will probably read or watch mindless TV. Which is my QOTD. I'm an ADD adult, and while I always say it's my super power because I'm like the energizer bunny, it's hard to shut my brain up. Mindless tv helps. So cooking shows and remodeling shoes and below deck and deadliest catch, it doesn't matter much, as long as there is chatter to distract me.
Menu:
B : coffee and 1/2 PP shake
L: TBD
D: bacon wrapped chicken tender, cauliflower rice, fresh tomatoes
Peace everyone!

I over stocked on some things back in the beginning of the virus. I need to spend an organizing day in the basement and probably bring a lot of canned and boxed things to the food mission. I have finally got to the end of all the meat I froze and am back to getting what I need for a few days at a time.
I dry brined a turkey breast this week and plan to roast it tomorrow. I never did that before so hope I like it. I am making some baked apples with Splenda this afternoon that should be a dessert for most of next week. I figure the turkey breast will be enough for plenty of meals next week too.

My biggest time waster now is the internet. But there are not a lot of other things to do and if there was no internet, I think I would be reading. When my mom was this age, she was at the library every week and reading every day. Even in her last months on earth, I went and got her library books.
Dreaming sort of fascinates me now. I wonder if we are slipping into the other world where our spirits go after death. Since ancient times people have dreamed and believed in an afterlife. I was wondering today if cavemen might have dreamed about driving a car or flying on an airplane. Sleep feels like a time waster, but it seems to be an essential need of humans.
There have been a few stories through the years about individuals who claimed to have never slept. I think I am going to read some of those books.
