What's on your Wednesday Menu?

I closed up my laptop at about 3:15pm ready to head out to the hammock, and all of a sudden the temp dropped and it started raining. WTH? All day they said it was going to be all sunny--"a top 10 day!". LIES!
Hi guys!
My son left this morning and I'm in a yucky mood. Not even when he left he gave me a real hug. Just one of those OK-I-have-to-do-this-for-mom-to-leave-me-alone hugs. I hope he changes after some time he is down there. I'm planning to stay in bed for the rest of the day and just be yuck.
We have two fires to the north and south of us. Our county got some evacuation notices but we are good. I asked DH if I should hose down the house. He said if you get the evac text just leave. I think I wasn't thinking straight.
JB - I sent your meme to my daughter and she said she is both ppl.
QOTD: I just received a bag from a store in Venice - Italy. I love her leather bags and she made me a cross body bag that during summer I can use with fun colorful shoulder straps and for fall I'll use her leather strap.
Accountability: yesterday I wan an emotional mess so ate my emotions. Today maybe detox.
Happy hump day! Going back to bed.

You go to bed and do yuck! I understand. Even though he and I were very tight when he was young, when my son left for college in 2002 he did the same thing. I cried for 3 days straight. Then he added insult to the injury by not needing me at all for a few years. I used to say I'd be the Mom who found out her kid went missing because he didn't show up for Christmas. That first year I had to hunt him down through his roommates to make contact with him. And this was just pre cell phones. It was hard and scary. But a good male friend who is about 8 years older than my son told me to hold on until he hit 24-25. He'll remember why he needs his Mom and build up a relationship again. And that is EXACTLY what happened. Now we text and tweet and plan vacations together. Hang in there, Mom. You did a good job building up an independent kid. He's flexing those muscles. He'll be back in the fold. Hugs!!!
Thanks Lisa. I just wish he would flex those independent muscles less. But it is what it is. As long as he does well in SD, makes friends and keeps up with school I'm good.

Hard not to feel yuck. Plan on it for a few days, but it will get better.
