You know I thought that meme was a baby announcement. It is so funny.

I bought my last car on a spur of the moment. My car needed work and I decided to just buy a new one. It is my first Ford in almost 50 years. A gold Ford Fusion with every bell and whistle that was available. I picked it up on a snowy night in February and was afraid to drive it home.

I was not familiar with the push button start. I also had been driving GM cars for almost 50 years and was not familiar with where the light switches and other controls were on Ford. I did not think a dark snowy night with slippery roads was a good place to start getting familiar with my car.

So I had a friend drive it home and the next day i drove around the block slowly a few times to get used to where everything was. Years ago when I traveled for work I landed at an airport in the evening and the only rental available was a foreign car. I got on the road and could not figure out how to get the headlights to stay on. I could get them on, but when I let go of the switch, they turned off again. It was a dark night and a city I had not been to before.

I drove with one hand holding the lights on until I saw a gas station. The attendant at the gas station helped me to get the lights to stay on. He had to read the manual. After that, I was careful to get a GM car.

I fell in love with the look of the Ford Taurus when it came out, but was working for GM and would have been considered a traitor if I bought one then. At the GM plant where I worked, they had someone go out in the parking lot and count the foreign cars that were parked there. Inside the plant was flashing neon sign with the number of foreign cars in the parking lot. It changed every hour.

It was also a common thing for the tires on foreign cars to get slashed in the GM parking lot. One of my co-workers moved to Ohio from the south. She put a sign on her foreign car that said, "I just moved here and am buying a GM car but please don't hurt this one". At that time there was a very strong union and driving any other brand while working for GM was considered being a traitor.

Good Morning and Happy Friday-Eve! As we close in on the last few days before school starts I'm trying to get in some extra driving practice time with Em and yesterday we went on the freeway. I waited to do that until she had had the instructor hours for that first (which was what they did Tuesday). I think she's doing pretty good.

Good morning!

I had a lovely evening with old friends on their deck. She even prepared dinner that was very easy for me to fit into my meal plan. It was so nice to catch up and meet the newest addition. He's nearly 7 months old and it was the first time we've met him!! I think work is going to be slow again today, so I'm not too stressed by that. I get paid by commission, so you'd think that would freak me out, but I have several large accounts that meet great numbers monthly, so things stay pretty even in my bank account. Speaking of banks, did I tell you our bank was burnt down in the riot in our little town? We were finally able to recover our safe deposit box, and you could not even tell they had survived a fire. Yay for that.

QOTD: I drive a dark chocolate brown Buick Enclave. I swore I wasn't going to buy another Mommy car when I got this one in 2016. And I sort of did not. I got a grandma car when I realized I'd need car seats for the girls. Maybe the next one can be all sleek and sexy. But, I really love this car!

Menu:

B: coffee and 1/2 PP shake. 1/2 crispbread and pb later (turns out one serving of JIF To Go equals 4 servings for me)

L: roasted chicken and riced edamame. Really enjoying this combo and happy I had plenty of leftovers

D: chicken fajitas, hold the tortillas, refried beans and a little guacamole

S: beef jerky if I need it.

Have a great day. Peace Everybody!

Good Morning JB and Menuers,

I thought things were crazy for me here at work trying to get masks, gowns, and gloves to these nursing facilities, however I would not want to be in an education role in any way shape or form. I feel for all the educators out there. I also think that it is crazy that some schools are still trying to play football. Don't get me wrong I understand the need for it I just don't understand how taking 1 season away will be that detrimental to these schools. (Remember I am not a parent so I may got it all wrong).

So the car drama continues. Talked to Ford yesterday. They have now had my car for 18 days and still have not torn the engine apart yet. So I am still stuck with this crappy smelly rental.

I have now gone to three dealerships and looked at 3 different vehicles. Actually the Kia Seltos is my top runner right now. You guys gave me great suggestions yesterday but none came in orange so those are out. I also looked at a Nissan Rogue it is really nice but the Kia price is so much better with all the bells and whistles. I have Subaru and Toyota left to look at then I'll make my decision.

QOTD: My Signature color is ORANGE

Accountability. It was good because I was car shopping and didn't get home till 9 last night.

TSS: 2 years 8 Months and 2 days 133.8 (lowest 130.8)

CB: Dark roast coffee with SF ID Caramel Macchiato w/Miralax and Fiber

MS: Overnight oats with protein powder cinnamon and coconut and Berries

CB2: Dark roast coffee with SF ID Caramel Macchiato

L: Jimmy Dean Egg'which and Oh snap pickles .

D: .Crack chicken quesadilla and Stuffed mushrooms..

Water and vitamins: On track. I take a Bariatric advantage Ultra multi w/iron I use bariatric advantage Calcium chews and my blood work has been great. My B12 has been High so I cut my sublingual to every 3rd or 4th day. And I have now added 500mg of Magnesium

Exercise: 3 Mile run (Done) I moved my phone to my leg in my new shorts and it is saying I am running 4 miles but I don't believe it is accurate.

Everybody have a Great day.

Brightest Blessings

Chrissy

Good morning everyone.

rough night last night. I had a serious case of being itchy and I mean everywhere. I ate way to much yesterday. I'm so full of anxiety right now. I don't even know why so much. I'm going to try and stick to 900 calories today. Hopefully my anxiety will stay manageable.

I'm really exhausted. I'll be glad when the EGD is done tomorrow. My COVID test was clear so that's good. Hoping to get some groceries Saturday. I need to get some low calorie stuff that's also lower carb. Sigh. I'm just really tired.

qotd: my mom has a Kia Rio that's bright red. I hate it only because I'm tall and it's a short car. I love kias and esp our dealership. I asked my mom to get a taller vehicle next time(in a few years) so it may be a new soul.

G'morning Everybody!

JB - i can't even imagine what you guys in the education field are going through. No wonder you can't sleep. There is no plan and Cruella DeVos is the most unfit person to be the head of education dept at a time like this.

So I read the exchange between Liz & Julia about WW 1 pt muffins and my ears perked up. Usually on here when I read about food items I don't pay much attention but for sweet stuff my ears go up right away. I went ahead and bought the Kodiak flour and made the cinnamon oat muffin. WOW!! Carb wise they are high (15 carbs per muffin) but I figured I can do the rest of the day really low carb. I had one as a breakfast yesterday and I was in heaven. Thank you both.

QOTD: red has always been my favorite color and except for a couple of cars I've always had red cars. At the moment I have a red electric car that we bought last year when we got rid of my red BMW suv. No more lugging kids around, no more need for an SUV.

My meals yesterday:

  • B: coffe + WW muffin
  • L: hb eggs + tuna
  • S: extra dark choc chips (30)
  • D: Turkey meatballs & roasted shi****o peppers
  • E: 5 miles jog

Happy jr fri-yay, everybody.

I have some Kodiak mixes on the way from Instacart tonight. I am thinking of making the Dark Choc with Lily's dark SF chips first. Might help with my detox from cake... :)

Chocolate is my next batch. I put them in the freezer, because if I just have them around I'd eat them all day long. I allow myself one a day.

Good morning, everybody!

We have our power and internet back today. On Monday, a storm blew through the Chicagoland area and knocked down a bunch of trees, power lines, etc. We have a gas fired generator, but it doesn't power the whole house. Mostly our sump pumps (to keep the basement from flooding), the kitchen and the family room. So no air conditioning or any electricity in our bedrooms.

Only two more days until my son leaves for college, its hard to believe. He finally exchanged emails with his prospective roommate yesterday, and I think that they are going to talk on the phone today.

QOTD: I have a grey Infiniti QX70, which I love but unfortunately they discontinued it.

Breakfast: Turkey meatballs and cottage cheese

Snack: Protein bar

Lunch: Chicken

Snack: nuts

Dinner: TBD

Have a great day, all!

Days are going by too fast. At least you are flying with him.
Don't know if I shared this but my son told us he wants to move in by himself and doesn't want us around. It's a 7 hr drive that he thought he could do by himself in his bus. So the compromise is DH is driving down with him, but leave him at the pearly gates. My mama's heart is in pieces that I can't fix his room or that he wants to get rid of us.
