As I told Trish, we all get a pass during birthday celebrations. I am so glad you are having fun!

So I weigh the same as Karen this morning amazingly (120.4). I have been doing all these dinners and lunches out but not overeating and I realize I haven't been snacking like usual because I have been so busy.

For those following my dating saga, I spent 8 fabulous hours with Mike yesterday. No lulls in the conversation! I took him on a tour of all the beautiful spots in my town (many), we had drinks at the local country club on the water (he has reciprocal privileges), then dinner at a beautiful Italian restaurant on the ocean in a different location. Just an amazing day and he already called this morning. Like a couple of 65 year old teenagers...

QOTD: I almost never reread books and didn't even as a child. I inhaled every book I could find and was reading selected books in the adult section of the library early on (I had to be given special privileges in those days and the books had to be deemed acceptable for young readers LOL). I still inhale books but don't reread them.

Oh- I've missed a lot! Hope the dating scene is promising, glad you enjoyed your day yesterday.

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who doesn't reread books. I barely read them once!

How fun for an 8 hour date!

i remember my mom having to go to the town library to get permission for me to have an adult card (3rd grade) and I was so proud when the mean librarian asked what restrictions I WAS subject to in books and my mother said none. Of course, that led to a lot of confusion when I tried to read Wifey at 10..it was a very odd Judy Blume book, lol.

Good morning! My last morning in KC, MO, so packing and organizing starts in a few minutes. Yesterday's dinner was a bit of a bust, I hate throwing away calories and fun food options when on vacation. We have a "no chain restaurant " rule when traveling so we can try new things. Can't win them all, and I had some amazing bites here. I'm not even afraid of the scale tomorrow morning because volume in was low, and exercise way up. Damn there are a lot of stairs here! I'm very ready though to get back to a routine for the next few weeks.

I realize I don't have any favorite books from childhood. I am and always have been a voracious reader, but like Liz, I am one and done on each book.

menu today is up in the air (literally!). We have healthy snacks packed and I will pick at that as needed. I'll figure out dinner when I get there and see what I can pull together for us.

I'm out of here KC, talk to you all from San Diego tomorrow. Peace, everybody.

Mornin' Weekenders!

I went over on calories yesterday by about 200, but I took an 18-mile bike ride (in the heat!), which took about 1 h 45 m, so I'm sure I burned off the excess. But still - back at it today. DH will be eating the last couple of pieces of leftover pizza, so at least that's out of my life. There's still about a third of the cake left, but I can't eat more than a skinny little piece because the sugar doesn't agree with me - so I'm OK with that as long as I can work it in. No bike rides today - it's supposed to be really hot and humid. A friend of mine gave me a five-class Zoom yoga pass for my b-day, so I'll do one of those this evening. I really haven't done yoga in a long time, and I need to get back to it. Flexibility and balance is just as important as cardio and strength training, they say, esp as we age - and I've been really slacking off on that the last few months.

QOTD: I almost never read books twice (well, never anymore, and I don't think I did much when I was a kid, either), but I loved the Nancy Drew series as well as the aforementioned Oz books.

TSS: 5y2m

B: coconut Greek yogurt with diced mango, coffee with half & half

MS: Fit Frappe

L: we'll be at MIL's, so I'll take a protein bar with me just in case we're stuck there with no good options

AS: L&F yogurt with raspberries, skinny bagel with light cream cheese

D: ear of corn for sure (elote-style) since I have a ton of it! Also some kind of protein - maybe a couple of Costco chicken skewers. And a sliver of cake for dessert.

have a great day, all!

Hey RNY'ers! I've been MIA, so I'll reintroduce myself. Peachpie, 5 years post op gastric bypass. 140ish lost at its peak, 110ish kept off, prefer to maintain a loss of 125#. I became an avid runner, and run about 30 miles/week when I'm not training for something or in some self-imposed challenge. I also was doing the gym twice a week, but Covid happened. In do my gym workouts at home for the time being. Wife, Mom of 2 teens and an HR Director. Currently struggling with iron levels, but I've got a plan, just need my body to cooperate!

Qotd: no answer.

menu today:

Meal 1: protein shake post-Run, 1 c. Multigrain Cheerios, 2oz ham & 1/2 waffle

meal 2: Cinnamon toast and cheese squares

meal 3: Turkey burger and salad

meal 4: ?? If I'm in the mood.

My carbs are high, but being so far out and with my activity I try not to stress about them so much. the Cheerios are a must to aid with the iron, Cinnamon toast is me trading off a bun for the turkey burger.

tossing in a pic b/c o haven't posted in forever. Took this last night. Normally excess skin doesn't bother me- but man my arm really looks like a wing!
