Morning Friends!
What. A. Week. All I can say is that it's a WILD time to be in education administration. I wish I could tell you all of the things that are happening, but it wouldn't be right to gossip about it on the internet. But trust me--it's a lot.
Check out my walking desk! It works great! I was on a for a few hours in the morning doing some boring spreadsheet/database wor****pt it super slow, of course, but it was nice to move. Then I was on a 2 hour zoom call, and I kept my camera off and walked when I wasn't talking. The only "problem" is that when I was walking slowly and had my hands up to type, it missed more than 50% of my steps. When the treadmill said I hit my first mile, my watch had only registered .4 miles. But I am trying to remind myself that it's the actual walking that counts, not whether Apple knows about it, haha. Anyway, I ended the day on streak with 11,372 steps registered and 22 WW Blue points.
Saturday is my birthday! 46 years on the planet. Wild. Anyway, I am taking tomorrow off and going up to the North Shore for a walk on the beach and some lobster with Grim and my family. I think I will take the long weekend off from posting, so I will let someone else start tomorrow! I promise to stay on my challenge streak--16 days done, so I don't want to have to start over, now!
QOTD: What are the reopening plans for schools where you live? Boston is all over the place. As of yesterday, the current plan is to do a hybrid plan with kids in person 2 days a week and 3 days remote. The kids who are remote would be live streaming into the classroom where the other kids are in person. However, we have 13 different unions that work in our very large district--from teachers to custodians, secretaries, bus drivers, etc... So even though this is the current plan, I am still highly doubtful that everyone will agree to come back.
Have a great weekend everyone--see you Monday!

Happy Birthday.
The treadmill desk is a great idea. You are doing your body an incredible favor with the extra movement.
I agree that there will be a lot of confusion and disagreement this school year. I worry so much about teachers and students. I have a huge family and miss them but don't want me or them to be exposed to unnecessary risks. Stay safe.

hey all ! Well I haven't had sleep in 2 days so I'm forcing it tonight!!! so annoying, I took an herbal supplement last night with melatonin in at and relived why people with restless leg syndrome DO not need melatonin by kicking my legs all night and not sleeping. gym session yesterday was great, coach kicked my back and arms to death BUT I can move today.
something big may be happening today but I can't talk about it yet. we will see if I can talk tomm. went to grocery after workout yesterday and got some amazing shrimp, baked chicken, chicken breast, and sausage for DH for his biscuits. also got tons of veggies! can't wait
QOTD: GA is mixed I believe and yesterday was in news for a kid having it and exposing it... To me its another train wreck to have them come in.

The most recent survey of teachers in Boston says that 440 of them will quit or retire if there is any for of in-person learning. So in 2 weeks I might need to hire 440 people. OMG.
