What's on your Wednesday Menu?

Happy Hump Day! I am having one of those weeks where the days seem long, but the week is flying. Such a weird phenomenon.
We managed through Tropical Storm Isaias last night. Not bad here at all--the winds were wild to watch, but the worst of the "damage" here was my hammock tipping over :) We'll be picking up branches all weekend, and the lights flickered, but all in all, nothing too exciting. I need to check in with my parents though--some of the worst damage they showed on the news was near them. Wondering if they have power--220K people are still out this morning!
My treadmill desk didn't come until late afternoon, so today will be my first walking work day. I am so excited to try working like this. But I did get in my steps without it yesterday--just barely hit my 8K steps but I did it, and had 23 points. I swapped out dinner because I didn't want to have to cook during the storm in case the power went out. It added more points than I counted on, but I had plenty to spare :)
QOTD: Do you eat food that?s past its expiration date if it still smells and looks fine? I'm so weirdly scared of expired food. I know that the dates are fairly arbitrary, but I can never bring myself to eat something past the printed date.
When I woke up this morning, the clock on the stove was blinking so I know the power was out last night. I was out for about three hours, but I slept through it.
I try to cook or freeze meat the day I buy it. I am alone so have to be careful not to buy too much food. If it is part its expiration date, I put it in the garbage. I feel bad about doing that but not bad enough to risk food positioning.
Real life begins where your comfort zone ends
Good morning all! Glad you made it through the storm ok JB. Well we made it back home from vacation on Sunday and it's been non stop busy ever since. I did NOT want to leave and was so sad to go home. Work has been crazy and yesterday I literally felt like my head was spinning. So glad today is Wednesday, but Friday would be even better!
Accountability yesterday was good. My diet is back on track after all the extra junk I put into my body while on vacation. My weight is also up which is discouraging, but I have no one to blame but myself. I said I was going to make better food choices while on vacation this time so I wouldn't have to deal with extra vacation pounds, but I ate those words real quick. (No pun intended) Seems like that's the only thing I succeed at is eating.....sigh.
QOTD: I am real funny about expiration dates as well. I don't really consume things after the expiration date unless it's like just a couple days past and still looks, smells and tastes good. My mother on the other hand does not believe in going by those dates and does not like to waste food so she's always disregarding them....unless they are like wayyy past the date. She will even eat yogurt months past the date. I can't do that even if it's still good.

Good morning menu crew!
yesterday we finally sold our little pickup that needed a lot of work(gas pump for one and some little things). It wasn't running due to the gas pump but they hauled it off. It was the neighbor across the street, he knows people who can work on it so I'm glad it's outta of our hair.
honestly...I started feeling icky last night. Really sore. So today I'm going to take it as easy as possible. Not that I did much yesterday but I got in the pickup to get something out and think I must of twisted weird. I'm also itchy as heck...not just the incision but allllllllll over. My legs and stomach are the worst. I took some Benadryl last night and will likely take a small dose this morning. It doesn't knock me out so it should be fine. We have the kids today for the most of the day.
qotd:for most things I'm pretty rigid with the expiration dates. Really perishable items like cheese meat and stuff like that. I'm more lenient for dry goods and such.
food....I really need to get my act together. I'm hoping this new depression med will really help when I start the full dosage Sunday. I'm eating alll the feelings.
b:oatmeal with??? Maybe a nectarine or 1/2 a banana
l:frozen dinner

Good morning!
QOTD - yes, but lemme 'splain. The products I eat/drink are not animal based. So, for example, tofu. I buy it in blocks, freeze it, and use it well past expiration date. Same even if not frozen. Oat milk, the life is like 4 weeks longer than regular dairy. Fruits/veggies those just get used before they go bad. Now, since my husband does still eat regular cheese, dairy, butter, sour cream, etc., those get used by expiration date or thrown out. None of that is worth risking illness. But any plant/soy based foods? I give those a lot of leeway!
Breakfast - fasting so hot black coffee, hot tea, topo chico
Lunch - spaghetti with sauce, salad
Snack - fruit smoothie, oat milk, frozen frui****er, hemp seed protein, chia seeds
Dinner - up in the air. I have lost motivation for cooking.
I hope you all have a great day!

Good morning and happy Wednesday, everyone! We are halfway there.
glad you didn't have too much impact from the storm! I hope you love the treadmill desk!
im in the office today! It's weird. My acupuncturist is by the office and I have so many meetings, the only way I could make my appt was to work here. Worth it for the appt and I'm going to a friends house after to have a socially distant ice tea and catch up on her back deck. I haven't seen her since December 27 so looking forward to it.
Qotd - I am very diligent about expirations although I will eat a yogurt up to 5 days after.
my office meal prep has
carbmaster cottage cheese
A balanced break pack
cold brew skyr
4 oz ever roast and slice cheddar
no work out for me today, I did 2 Pilates classes last night so giving myself the day off! (Also, commuting eats into my pre work workouts)
have a fantastic day!

We had very little rain and wind up to 30 MPH on the Cape. So lots of leaves, but that is it.
Today DS and I are driving to NH to visit friends on Newfound Lake for a few days. It is my peaceful place! Pictures on Friday.
Oh and my lunch date yesterday was phenomenal. We really clicked. I will probably see him this weekend when I am back.
QOTD: JB, you are like DS. Of course he is a chef, so that's a good thing. He is constantly reviewing the canned goods, milk etc. for expiration dates. I will let some things go beyond a bit if they smell okay but not others. I guess I just use my judgement especially if the date is more of a "sell-by" vs "use-by" date.
TSS: 4 years, 4 months

Thx! Very different from all previous dates with others. But geographically we are on opposite ends of Cape Cod and opposite coasts in Florida (obviously not insurmountable).

Yay for the date.
We need more info. We are all invested in this.
