What's on your Tuesday Menu?

Morning all! I am tired this morning. I think the extreme heat and humidity is just draining. I was only able to work outside from 6:30am - 10:30am, but I needed to move inside. Same today--temps close to 100 and the humidity is just gross.
My streak was close to ending yesterday! I was on the treadmill in the morning when the power went out. I meant to get back on later but, as previously mentioned, it was hoooooot, and then I forgot! My Apple Watch says I got 7967 steps, so I didn't really achieve it, but I am giving it to myself because it seems silly to start over for 30 steps. I was extra great about points though--I only had 16 :) It's definitely getting easier to eat low in points than it had been--I just really needed to cut way back on the sugar to get those cravings out of my system.
Edit** I just weighed in, and out of nowhere I am down 2lbs in 8 days. I am sure it will slow waaay down from here since this week was really a detox from the crap I had allowed back in to my body, but it was nice to see some affirmation from the scale :)
QOTD: If you could safely have one zoo animal at your home, which one would you choose? I think I would go with a family of adorable otters but I would also love to have a Red Panda!
G'morning Menu family!
Missed you all! Hope everybody is doing OK. I gotta go back and read the past posts to be all caught up.
JB - happy to see your meme game is as sharp as ever. LOL
Some updates from my world :
- DD came home from DC and stayed 2 weeks. The second week she was WFH. Her schedule was 6:00-3:00 to match east coast, so I would get up early and prep her breakfast while she was on various meetings. It was almost jarring seeing my baby (22 years old) being an adult and working.
- We really enjoyed having her home but we were also extra careful to keep her safe and "in the bubble", so she could go back to DC safely. On our various outings we opted for the most isolated beaches or nature paths where not many tourists knew about them. Still she would wear masks at all times when out.
- It was fun seeing both kids together again. They fell back into their old routine of when they were 10-12. All the movies they chose to re-watch were those kids movies: ice age, cloudy with a chance of meatballs, Diary of a whimpy kid, Starwars, Harry Potter.
- DS did his virtual orientation and signed up for his classes. I was surprised that although 95% of classes are online, most of lower class-men classes had a max. Then I realized profs still have to review and grade assignments and can't do for an infinite number of students. Anyways, he was lucky he got all the classes he wanted.
- We also found out due to his AP classes and a couple of courses he took at our community college, he has credit for FIVE classes, that's a whole semester!!! He was walking on cloud 9 after he finished his zoom call with the advisor.
QOTD: polar bear, my absolute favorite animal. Especially when they are pups.
Accountability: although I haven't been 100% food wise while DD was here (we ordered out a lot - and I baked all of her favorites), I was on top of my workout routine. Never missed a day, so the balance was OK.
My meals yesterday:
B:protein coffee
L: Costco egg bites
S: PP SF pudding
D: turkey meatballs + cauliflower rice
E: 6.1 miles wog
Happy Taco Tuesday, everybody.

Welcome baaaaaack! So nice to hear about a positive two weeks for everyone :)
So nice that your DD could come! My DSD is living with me for a while after "escaping" Jacksonville FL and is also WFH so busy every weekday.

It's fun to have adult kids back at home again, right?

I would totally round up for 30 steps too!! Good job!
early on in quarantine I tried several zoom workout classes and they just didn't work for me, I did much better on old school non-interactive recordings.
we're supposed to get rain/storms this afternoon so I moved our socially distant swim session to tomorrow. Not sure what we'll do after work today - but I'll be 50% done with the week by then so yay!
menu today is
coffee + half and half x3
ever roast and slice of cheese
cin raisin carb master cottage cheese
light and fit greek
ans I'm thinking we'll get to go salads tonight
my 7 am meeting was cancelled so I think I can squeeze in an elliptical workout -- getting my early morning work out in on the 5 to 2 schedule has been harder than expected!
have a great Tuesday!
