What's on your Monday Menu?
Excellent that you have one week down on your streak. Try to focus in on that vs. the nasty work and weather today.
Thank you for the recipe - I am going to try it tonight or tomorrow.
Today I have a coffee date with a new guy and am meeting my favorite friends from the Alzheimer's Support group for lunch on the harbor. We have been supporting each other for several years through our husbands declines and they are really great women.
QOTD: This is an older WW recipe which my SIL has made for years. We modified it a bit to use 1 pound of ground turkey, much less oil and I put it over zoodles instead of pasta. The WW Bluepoints are about 1 per serving.
TSS: 4 years, 4 months
B: Coffee! Egg and banana pancake
L: tuna and cottage cheese
D: salmon burger or tuna burger and veggies
S:bean salad and/or strawberry cheesecake yogurt pie and/or WW one point muffin

That funny--somer version of that with ground turkey is my go-to for making ground meat. I mix up the veggies, because it's never planned, but s killed full of veggies, tomato sauce and ground turkey is my jam!
Hope you had fun and stayed cool today!
I have had cats all my life and every once in a while, they will manage to get outside and run away. I walk the neighborhood calling them, then go home to worry and wait. Then they walk up to the door and meow to be let in. They are never remorseful and just act like nothing has happened and I am being a helicopter mom.
I hope your mom's is back home by now.
They are only forecasting 85 today, so might go out and work on the lawn. I took the day off for an appointment, but the appointment got moved so I have no work or obligations today. Something I really enjoy.
It has been a long time since I tried a new recipe. I have a nice stack of Healthy Choice and Lean Cuisine in the freezer and probably won't try a new recipe for a while. I have been cutting up a home grown tomato and putting white balsamic vinegar on it. I love regular balsamic vinegar but I have had it stain things. White tastes great and no worry about a stain on something.
Really good Ohio corn will be available in my area next week. It will be at the farm where my father used to take us in the summer to get corn and my mother would have a pot of water boiling when we got back. I am looking forward to really fresh corn.

Good morning everyone.
really difficult night. Depression and this surgery has completely kicked my ass. I was supposed to start a new depression med and of course Medicaid denied it. So I was weaning off the old one since she didn't refill it. It's causing havoc. I was supposed to hear back Friday about the appeal but of course I didn't. I had a big, ugly and long cry last night. It wasn't pretty.
I really don't know what I expected with this surgery to be honest. My incision is about 6.5 inches long. My legs have been cramping a lot. Getting up is still very painful as well as sitting and laying down. Ahhhh! lol I've gained a few pounds so I need to get my head back in the game.
guess I'm just being whiny. I've got some calls to make today and we'll see what progress I can make with the meds.
qotd: I'm trying to think....the last recipe I made was "better thank take out sesame chicken" for my mom. It's not anywhere near healthy but it is so good. I need to figure out a healthier version.

I was going to say the same thing--it always take a few days to lose after a surgery! I was so disappointed when I came home from my first WLS 11 pounds heavier than when I went it. I was so close to throwing the scale out the window.

Thanks ladies.
it doesn't help that I've been eating...well just about everything. The weaning off the depression med without a replacement yet is really not being kind to my mind.
not giving in just yet.

Not sure if you are a podcast person but there is an INCREDIBLE podcast called Missing Richard Simmons that came out a few years ago. It was made by one of his students who was concerned about him dropping out the public eye and he investigated. That was interesting, but honestly they just give so much backstory to him and his weightless empire. It was really fascinating to listen to, because of course he was a part of my life in the 80s as I struggled with my body image.
