What's on your Thursday Menu?

Happy Thursday morning.
not a great day so far for pain. I got some OxyContin yesterday for after the surgery but I plan on taking it ONLY if I have to. I've never taken it before but do not want to be dependent on it in any way.
sleep was horrible as usual. Today is the last day we have the kids for 2 weeks. I'm sure they'll be over the weekend of the 25th as it's my moms birthday so we'll be seeing them. They are going a little stir crazy and they are fighting...a lot! I'm making my mom some sesame chicken and pad Thai tomorrow or Saturday for an early birthday present. She is going to put a lot of it up in the freezer so she won't have to cook a lot. I've never made pad Thai so we'll see! The sesame chicken is killer but I won't be having any due to it being fried and carb heavy. Plus my indigestion!
I'm so tired already so it's going to be a long day.
qotd:my hearing. I can't zone out sounds at all. I'm hyper vigilant about them.
b:oatmeal with 1/2 a banana
l:oatmeal With cacao
d:egg with a waffle
s:almond yogurt and maybe air popped popcorn.
have a good day everyone!

Good grief I'm exhausted.
had a phone appointment with my psychiatrist and my depression med was changed up. Something that's hopefully a good thing!

It is truly a beautiful day. I am on the deck with Justice listening to the breeze and the birds. I am going to sneak to the beach later this morning as I avoid them on weekends.
I had my 4 year WLS checkup yesterday and they were happy with my weight and labs. The dietician agreed with me that WW has really gotten me into healthy eating. Before I went I visited several spots from the town I grew up in which is near my surgeon. Some great memories...
QOTD: You would think this was a fairly easy question, but I feel like all my senses are less acute now that I am older. I guess my best senses would be either taste or smell. I do find it difficult to separate the two. My least strong might be touch at least on my fingertips, but my hearing is less accurate than it used to be especially in a crowd.
TSS: 4 years, 3 months
B: Coffee!
L: Everroast chicken and laughing cow cheese
D: Leftover scallops and cauliflower
S:bean salad and/or lemon blueberry yogurt pie and/or WW one point muffin

You know how Grim literally only eats 4 things? Well turns out he has no sense of smell at all. Its fascinating.
Steak, chicken, quest bar, but what is the 4th?

Mornin' All!
I have an eye doctor appt at 10:30 this morning. I was hoping to get a bike ride in beforehand, but I'm not sure. It looks kind of gloomy out there like it wants to rain, but supposedly there's only a 10% chance today. Although since it's only supposed to get up to 82 F today, I guess I could just wait until this afternoon. Might be better anyway since then I won't have to be cognizant of the time, and if I get sweaty, it won't matter - I'll have plenty of time afterward to shower!
accountability wasn't great yesterday, but it was certainly better than the day before (with the pistachio binge). Will try to reel it back in line today before my indulgences start showing up on the scale. The woman who posted about being ten years out and the struggle with controlling her head's "temper tantrums" really spoke to me. I love that description! My head is having way too many temper tantrums lately!
QOTD: taste and smell are the strongest. I can often taste things in food that other people can't - but I don't hold a candle to a friend who seems to be one of those "super tasters" I've read about. I used to have dinner frequently with her and her husband before they moved to Massachusetts a few years ago. She could pretty much list every ingredient in everything she ate (and I knew she was on target because she did a bang-up job with things that I, personally, had cooked. She was amazing!). Hearing is the worst. I've taken internet tests and I've come out below average, even among people in my age group. And I've never been an auditory learner. I have a hard time listening to things like books on tape (or whatever the medium). I also get lost in detailed auditory directions or presentations. I used to have to tape or furiously write everything down when I took classes back in college and graduate school. I'm definitely visual when it comes to anything like that!
TSS: 5+ y
B: piece of cheesecake-flavored yogurt pie with 2 T light Cool Whip and some kind of berry compote. Coffee with half & half
MS: Fit Frappe (my new order arrived yesterday!!!). Although I may have to put it off until this afternoon and have a protein bar or something instead because of the eye appt (I hate it when life interferes with my eating plans!!)
L: I'm keeping this open because there's a chance I might go out with MIL, but if not, 1-2 Costco chicken skewers and 1/2 C bean salad
AS: yogurt with 1/2 diced mango. Maybe a light English muffin with light cream cheese, too
D: Either chicken skewers or a vegan burger on a slim bun. 1/2 C Asian-inspired cole slaw
I have SF Jello, SF popsicles and some grapes to eat if I'm at risk of going over my limit....
have a great day, everyone!
DS (chef) is a super taster. Amazing how he can dissect a dish.
