What's on your Tuesday Menu?
Good Morning! That pic definitely displays RH. Here in CA we are back to closing things back down-salons, gyms and all of that. We are expecting to hear about schools by end of the week but I'm anticipating full online to start. Last week it was going to be up to each family to decide (we had "reserved" Em's online spot since there were too many unanswered questions on how things would be handled)but with the increasing numbers and what other districts are doing we are guessing it'll all be online to start.

I am guessing we'll be online, too. Yesterday the district announced that they will enforce 6' between students instead of the 3' that the state is mandating, which is basically impossible with how our schools are designed (most of our 130 schools buildings are around 100 years old)... so it felt like a baby step towards an announcement that we will not be going in person. I am on pins and needles waiting for an actual decision, though, because it will have a huge impact on my work.
Good morning, everybody!
I signed up for that virtual race. Afterwards, I ran one mile and posted it just to make sure that the posting worked. It seemed to work fine, but I didn't realize I was supposed to self-time. I will be sure to wear a watch today.
They moved Baylor graduation to virtual yesterday. It was really the only choice. So we re-arranged all of our flights and cancelled our plans. My daughter has a friend who is getting married the same weekend, and now she doesn't know whether the wedding will take place or not. My older son is still off to physical school and they are going to do a mix of live and online, depending upon the size of the class. My younger will go to high school 2 days live and three online, rotating weeks.
QOTD: Mostly when I am driving and alone
Breakfast: : turkey meatballs and cottage cheese
Snack: protein bar
Lunch: Cod
Snack: nuts
Dinner: Hello Fresh
Have a great day, all!

I hope this school situation does not become the new normal. I really do not know how they expect these kids to learn like this. Yes if you have responsible parents that care and are educated you have a chance. My friend is a 1st grade teacher in a low income area and over 1/4 of her class never picked up the work to finish the last school year. I feel so bad for the underprivileged kids. There has to be a better way.

Yeah there is no good way to do this. Obviously, all of our kids are low-income, high-need so online learning is a huge concern. But we should all remember that schools are 100% prepared to handle kids who have high learning needs--it's what we do. So if a whole grade level of kids come to us in a year who are below grade level, we can handle it.
UW-Madison is doing the same kind of thing. Classes with over 100 students enrolled will all be online. If there are 50-100 enrollees, they will be held in person IF there's a large enough lecture hall so they can socially distance. Under 50 student classes will be held in person - they'll scheduled them in lecture halls so they can spread out.
however, I know some of the faculty are leery about teaching this fall, even with the smaller, spread out classes. So there may be more going online than the administration is currently planning for. I can't really blame the professors if they - or their loved ones - are in vulnerable groups.
on the other hand, the advantage to me is that I registered to be an auditor this year, and I only wanted to do online classes since I'm afraid of sitting in a classroom with a bunch of potentially unmasked students, many of whom probably won't socially distance when they're outside of class. And now instead of a few options for classes, I have jillions!

I m impressed that both of your sons' schools have plans in place. It's the uncertainty that is killing me! I can handle any decision, I just want to know, so I can plan.
