What's on your Thursday Menu?
Wow - only 6 seconds! I know that when I received a resume, I quickly looked at format and length. Just being able to see that they could be organized and concise was important. And then I read their most recent job, education and goal if they had one. If none of that stuff fit I probably wouldn't continue reviewing the resume, so maybe I did do that in the first 6 seconds...

Has Em been having classes remotely? Any word yet on whether or not they will be in class in the fall or virtual?

Our school district has not announced plans yet but have hinted that it will be up to the parents to decide. I envision that she will have a hybrid of some on-line (remote) and some on campus classes since she is slated to only be at her normal high school for a portion of her day so she can attend a magnet school for law/order classes.
That sounds really exciting that she can go to the magnet school. Remind me, is she a sophomore this year? What's she up to this summer?

I used to work in career counseling and DH still does. I've read that statistic as well.
I don't read resumes thoroughly - esp long, detail-y ones. You need those for university teaching positions, but for most positions, no. I just glance at their education and one or two of their most recent jobs. Like Liz said, if those don't really "fit", I don't bother with the rest. Also, if someone is in their 40s and has been in the workforce for 20+ years, I don't care about their college GPA or what extracurricular activities they were in in high school or college. It's weird some people still put things like that in there. I used to prune my resume every five years or so and cut out really outdated things or things that just weren't relevant anymore.
Morning all,
I hope that each of you are safe and healthy.
I've been at my desk working since 5 but I'm the division resource person today, so there's alot more to accomplish today.
The bruising on my neck from the injection is feeling somewhat better but I keep cycling cold and heat. Also hoping that the other pain is reduced in the next few days.
Accountability: some extra food, including a second Carbmaster yogurt w/ blueberries and an RXBar.
Food for today:
I started with my big cup of black Earl Grey team w/ Miralax
I had a key lime Carbmaster yogurt w/ a couple slices of fresh peach and about half a cup of fresh blackberries & topped off with 1/4 cup of slivered almonds
I have a tea latte with protein powder in another hour or so.
Lunch: leftover taco guts and some grape tomatoes
Snack: probably a Chomps
Dinner: TJ's salmon patty with something green
Exercise: I won't take a lunch break today and it may be too hot by the time I sign out.
Have a great day!
Janet
Adding QOTD: I have been SO pleased with our governor and county executive. Hogan, the governor is the chair of the Governor's Association (?) and has been very hard nosed about not opening quickly and providing testing and other resources. The good news is that at the moment our state and county numbers are going down, which is rare.

I hate the temp cycling, when I had an injection in my lumbar spine the hot cold crap was so uncomfortable.
i really hope it eases up for you!
