Good morning JB and fellow menuers!

Another beautiful day here in Southern Ontario. We are supposed to get some very warm temps over the next few days. I do love it but we could really use some rain.

JB - I love your shirt! My sister has a cricut and if you're if the mind that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, I'd love to ask her to make me one.

QOTD- I don't really have long term hobbies, and my husband is such a pack rat that I try not to keep too much stuff around so that it balances his tendencies. I do love crafts, but I move around from 1 thing to another. I like to use chalk paint to renew furniture but the furniture takes up too much space so I only do that occasionally. I do have a cabinet downstairs that I'd like to use upstairs but I don't like the finish so I may redo that one. I do love to read and our new place has room for a sitting area in our bedroom so I love going up there for some quiet time and to read. I'm the only early bird in my house so it often feels like when I'm winding down for the night, my household is winding up. It's been nice to be able to escape that and have some quiet time before bed.

Menu today:

After yesterday's fiasco (eating was not good at all) I decided today has to be 100% on point or I will derail myself and I just can't let that happen.

Breakfast- I made a sugar free custard and served it over - what else?- fresh picked strawberries. It was delicious but it tasted like more. Glad I only made 1 serving.

Lunch: Spicy Thai Chilli Tuna with rice crackers

Dinner- I keep hoping the dinner fairy will magically make dinner but unless I keep after the kids to take a turn, it doesn't happen. When I remind them they do it but sometimes it's just easier to do it myself. Having said that, I have no plans as to what to make for dinner. As I said, it's going to be a hot day so maybe something on the grill.

Just about to take my vitamins and meds, and then get back online for work. I was off for 2 days and came back to a huge pile of emails.

Exercise will be walking Obie. He has been hiding under our bed for 5 nights in a row due to fireworks but based on the rumblings around here last night, I think we're done for this year. Yesterday was Canada Day so we should be but who knows. If we are, I will have a very relieved pup.

Have a great day everyone!

Of course--steal away! I cobbled the design together from a few things I found online, so I can't really claim it as a completely original design either ;)

Good morning!

Yesterday was tough with the day starting off with no internet access due to a router that died in the night. Essentially being able to start my work day 5 hours behind was frustrating and aggravating for me. Was able to get my hair done last night. Near ghost town in the salon which is HUGE. Like 40 chairs or something. Every single woman in there getting bleached, highlighted, extensions, cuts, you name it, kept their mask on. The one dude getting a trim would not. I was so aggravated. I mean, just help be part of the solution. It's not that damn hard. I am hopeful to finally see my Dad in CT in 2 weeks, and now they are implementing mandatory quarantine from CA. Not a huge issue, as we will mostly be with family on the property, but still. I am being extra careful about maintaining distances, wearing my mask, and health issues. Dad is 84. I am not sure how many more opportunities I will have and I have not seen him since New Years Day.

QOTD: I guess my hobbies are reading and cooking. I had a book shelf added when we remodeled in 2018. I've got one shelf for incoming books, one for out. My girlfriends and I all read and exchange like crazy. I still prefer a real book over an electronic reader and only load up my Ipad for vacations. Obviously, my cooking stuff is in the kitchen, which is pretty well organized, and I don't need another thing, but you can't convince me of that fact if I walk into Williams Sonoma! Maybe it's a good thing I've been staying out of the mall. Of course, I'll have the new RV to kit out. HomeGoods, here I come!

Menu:

B: coffee and 1/2 PP shake

L: chicken tender and spaghetti squash with some Parm

D: ham, tomato, avo, fresh corn salad

S: 1/2 PP shake and beef jerky if needed

Peace Everyone!

Its hard to have older parents right now, isn't it? It's such a balance between wanting to spend time with them and wanting to stay away to keep them safe.

G'morning everybody!

JB - The pineapple t-shirt is adorable. How do you make these T-shirts so fast?

We hoped and hoped, but there is no use. Yesterday, we pulled the plug and cancelled the trip to Hawaii that was supposed to be at the end of July. The way we are doing in CA there is no way we can travel for pleasure. Nobody would let us in anyway, and I'm not about to go to Hawaii and stay inside for 14 days. But the good news is that DD is coming home for 10 days. I haven't seen her in person since Xmas. We FaceTime at least once a week but it's not the same as hugging her and squeezing her. Told her to he ready to be squeezed 24/7 while she is here.

QOTD: I make wreaths and I knit and crochet. Before I had a dedicated spot there was glitter (from the wreaths) all over the place. So when DD left for college, and DS was no longer using the game room we turned it into the hobby room. I still use the rocking chair in front of TV when knitting/crocheting, but all my supplies are at my desk. And for wreath making I use the hobby desk. Here are a couple of pics. I really like my spot.

My meals yesterday:

  • B: protein coffee
  • L: TJ shrimp stir fry
  • S: fresh berries
  • D: Costco egg bites
  • E: 5.1 miles uphill wog

Happy Thursday, y'all.
