Mornin' All!
we're supposed to have a few days' stretch of hot, humid weather, so I'm not sure how much outdoor exercise I'll be able to get in - unless I get out really early. I didn't really have enough time to do anything of substance this morning, but fortunately I took a long-ish bike ride early yesterday morning, and did weights last night. So this will be my rest day - unless I do some youtube thing later on. I have my regular online Mah Jongg game in 45 minutes (I need to eat breakfast and shower before then) - then lunch with a friend. And I have a few small things I've been sitting on that I really need to get done by the end of the day.
QOTD: we've never bought any fireworks, but when we lived in Ohio, we often spent July 4 with my grandmother in the Cleveland suburbs, and my cousins usually brought them over. Sparklers, mainly - but one time when my one cousin was a teen, he brought some thing that I think was illegal - maybe an M-80? Not sure - it's been way too many years. Anyway, he set it off in her backyard. I've been hearing more firecrackers than usual this year, too - maybe people are just bored. It's not from our block because other than this dental student who lives a few houses down - and his IT specialist husband who puts in a crap ton of hours at work, I think everyone else is over 50. There are some apartments a couple of blocks away, so I'm guessing it's probably coming from there.
TSS: 5y
B: plain Greek yogurt with strawberry compote, coffee with half & half
MS: protein shake
L: not sure because I don't know where my friend and I are going (or are doing take-out from). It'll be something safe because I'm on a roll lately...
AS: L&F yogurt or a piece of yogurt pie
D: probably two Costco chicken skewers with peanut sauce
have a great day, everyone!
QOTD- I hate fireworks except for the big displays. I thought it might be quiet this year since Washington has been shut down, all of the legal fireworks here cannot explode in the air, but all of the loud ones they go across the river and get from Washington or on the Indian Reservation. It's already started but I'm hoping it won't be as bad as years in the past. My cat is pretty much deaf so it doesn't bother him, a dog I had hated the whistling ones and would totally cower from them, I think they hurt his ears. It stresses me out and makes me crazy...
So far I was doing well until Monday when it all went off the rails. Horrible day at work, I ended up working an additional 1 1/2 hours over my 8, and having to deal with my boss who wasn't happy with me. I don't deal well with conflict, and honestly I did my best, but the change of ownership has changed how we do things and it hasn't been very easy to figure out, especially without any leadership. My boss is too busy being on calls, and he doesn't really understand what we do anyway. So I didn't get a walk in and I was so upset when I got home from the barn I had a few glasses of wine. I'm still down 3 lbs, but have 7 more of regain to lose.
Yesterday I got a 3.4 mile walk in and just kept my head down and got a project finished, that has been hanging around for awhile. I probably went overboard on all the documentation, but I figured with getting chewed for the previous one, I'd make sure I had everything on this one even if I don't need it.
Have a great day everyone!

The unfortunate mood has allowed me to lose some of the regain so I guess that is a positive side to all of this. A lot of this quarantine has caused me to lose focus on my self care. Your photo reminded me that I need to shower... lol I mean, I showered on Monday morning, but it's been really easy to forget since our routine has changed drastically.
Breakfast: Protein Shake
Snack: Bacon's Heir Pork Snacks
Lunch: Protein Shake
Dinner: Chicken Salad with Cucumbers, avocado, onions, and cheese with italian dressing
It has been non stop fireworks here for the last month... and we are talking HUGE mortars... and on top of everything, it has been super windy and people are still setting off their huge displays. Makes me really angry because they are setting off in the middle of the day (why?!?) as well as into the wee hours of the morning. I guess a lot of people just don't have a courtesy for others, especially if their house burns down because of the chaotic wind carrying the firework embers.
Hi all! It's after 3 here and I'm just now checking my personal email and logging in here...argh!! What a busy morning starting at 5:30, mostly because I'm trying to get things done before my Stay-Cay starts. Nowhere to go but I'm taking a MUCH NEEDED time off that isn't related to doctor appointments, family crises, or pain management. I almost feel guilty for taking time off when I've been working from home since the beginning of March!!! Not that guilty though
After having a low grade fever for 4 days plus some other vague symptoms, so my doc sent me for a Covid-19 test yesterday. The good news: the result was negative; the bad news: I was exposed to more infection possibilities there than I have been at any time in 4 months!! Long lines of people, who I assume all had some type of symptoms, most not wearing their masks correctly and NO physical distancing. I even made an appointment but no organization or safety precautions at all. So crazy and frustrating with all that's happening in the country. Oh well, back to my isolation. I talked to my doc this morning, and he said to just assume that I'm positive for 2 weeks to be sure. Sigh....
Food today:
B1: 2 cups of black Earl Grey w/Miralax
B2/L1: 1 cup Vanilla Carbmaster yogurt w/ blackberries, peaches and 1/4 cup of slivered almonds
L2: protein shake w/ Carbmaster milk
D: salmon kabob & some veg
S: Chomps, maybe
LOTS of fluids: water, hot & iced tea
Over the next week, I'm looking forward to some dirt therapy in my porch garden, naps, walks close to home, journaling, and trying out my new sewing machine. The old one that I've had since college, finally died while trying to make face masks in March. I quickly ordered a new one from Ebay, but I haven't felt well enough to get it out of the box! Thankfully several friends sent me cloth masks, and I'm rationing my surgical masks for emergencies.
Thanks to everyone for the chaffle ideas. Another fun thing to try over the time off and freeze some.
Better get back to work for a bit longer. Take care everyone!!
Janet

How frustrating! Glad that you're taking some time off!

So I'm late again. It's Canada Day and hubby is off so he and I went strawberry picking this morning. We measure by litres and it was 15 litres that we picked which I think is about the same as 15 quarts. Local strawberries are my fave!
Today has been a terrible day for me food wise. I'm okay for calories but my carbs are pretty bad.
B: Half pita with strawberry jam again. (That's the last day for that breakfast no matter how yummy!)
L: 1/2 a pork po' boy sandwich and a cup of strawberries for dessert
snack (this is when I blew it) - Vanilla dip donut from Tim Hortons. They had a special one for Canada day.
Supper has not been had, but it will probably just be some tuna or scrambled eggs.
No change on the scale today.
See the pics below- me and hubby at the strawberry farm and Obie enjoying my in-laws backyard. It's much bigger than ours. He'd love to run it but my mother in law doesn't like him getting in to stuff so we keep him on his leash.
RNY Jan 12, 2017 Lost 137 lbs but regained 60.
77 lbs lost and counting!
Losing the regain! I got this!
