What's on your (PHOTO FRIDAY) Menu?
It's good to see you back, Janet! If this stuff was easy, we wouldn't be on this page.

So great to see you here but I'm sorry about how much you are dealing with. I gained 20 pounds last year with everything going on with DH, but was able to lose it by following WW. It helped me to feel control over at least one aspect of life when everything else was beyond my control.

Another humid day here in the cornfields of Illinois but Miss Lily and I have our first walk in and will do more later. We are going to be leaving here a few weeks early to go home for a couple weeks. It's been so long since we were there it will feel strange but youngest son is FINALLY having surgery on the knee he injured one year ago. In March his surgeon wanted a new MRI since it's been so long and ,after arguing with the insurance company Covid hit and no non essential testing was being done. He finally got the test done and it shows a severely strained ACL and a cyst so his lawyer told him to schedule it and they'll take his past employer to court. Surgery is July 15. Accountability yesterday was spot on food and stepwise and weight is 120.4. Here's the food plan B 1/2 c steel cut oats with protein and peanut butter L 3/4 southwest chicken soup D 4 oz of whatever protein hubby cooks. Have a good day full of smart choices and stay safe everyone. Pics are from Camp Rivervale near Mitchell,Indiana.

How do you decide where to walk with her? Do you ever feel unsafe while out walking or do you have routes where safety doesn't seem like an issue?
Most of the camps we work at have cleared trails we walk on. When we're at the Distribution center traffic on the road at fairly high speed is an issue so we walk around the nearby church parking lot and the parking lot at the elementary school. I've always been able to find somewhere to walk that felt safe.
It is great that you take sure good care of your health and are also doing something to help others. I spent my life tied to a desk and sometimes wonder what it would have been like to do something much more physical.
Years ago I was looking for a job and took the exam to be a mail carrier. When I went for an interview, the interviewer said, "You have the highest score on the exam and if you insist on this job, I have to give it to you. But today is a beautiful day in June. Everyday will not be like this. You will have to work in scorching heat, freezing cold, rain, blizzards, and thunderstorms. You will encounter angry people and vicious dogs."
He advised me not to take the job and to look for office work that would be much more suitable for me. There was a very nice young man waiting for an interview and I like to think that I made the right decision for both me and for him by not taking the job.
A week later I was hired for an office job and stayed there until I retired. My friend went the mail carrier route and did very well at it. She stayed in much better shape than I did, due to all the physical work she did.
I have wanted to be on a space capsule all of my life. I have a fantasy where they pick an older person and let them go into space and I am that lucky person.
