Good morning! Yesterday was a crazy busy day that wore me out. And I'm hoping for the same today. Have a dermatology appointment this afternoon. Blech. Blonde hair and light skin + no sunscreen as a child equals putting my Derm's kid through school. We'll see how I fare this afternoon. Necessary evil, be good to get it over with. I missed going last year, so I'm expecting her to really come at me with that freeze can!!
QOTD: Nacho Cheese Doritos. They cannot even be in my house. They call me in the middle of the night. I even figured out how to make dinner out of them. We call them Mock Tacos. No bean chili heated really hot, poured over the Doritos, add cheese, lettuce, tomato and VOILA!!! Dinner! No amount of WW has ever won out over the Doritos. So I have followed the ancient WW lesson of a red light food. Doritos are a red light food. In house, must eat. So they very rarely get an invite inside my home. (my mouth is now watering thinking of Doritos)
Menu:
B: 1/2 PP shake, coffee
L: 2-3 ounces pork, 1.5 ounce Halumi cheese
D: grilled chicken thighs and TBD to round out that meal
S: 1/2 PP shake

G'morning everybody!
I just kinda fell out of the habit of coming to OH every morning, and by the time I read the posts, usually late at night, it was too late to respond.
So...Jen, hope your mom is doing better. Kelly, sorry about your friend. It's so hard not to be with loved ones during the final good byes. Julia, your outside area is looking better and better. Karen, good to see you back. Jim, happy to have you back from your vacation. Everybody else...mwah!
We had a little bit of scare couple of days before Father's Day. DS and his buddy had gone skateboarding at one of the skate parks near by. I get a call from him, that on its own scared me bcz this kid never calls, the max of his communication is through text. "Mom, D fell and is not doing good. I called the ambulance but don't have his mom's number." I hung up and called the mom, who happens to be my personal trainer. I had texted her that morning that the new routine she had given me that week was killing me. So she picks up the phone saying "I'm not changing the routine no matter how hard it is, suck it up butter cup!" I asked her if she was home and that I was on my way to pick her up. Last thing we needed was for her to be driving in her state. By the time we got to the hospital - a 10 mins drive, they had determined he needs to go to a hospital that was equipped to deal with brain injury. So they airlifted him to one of Silicon Valley hospitals. My friend is pale and blonde naturally, but when she heard her son was airlifted she just lost all the color in her face. I was worried she might pass out. So back in the car and we drove over the hill, there is a chain of hills between the coast and the valley and it's kind of curvy. I am so happy it was me driving because I don't think she had the presence of mind to pay attention to the road. In the mean time she was trying to locate her husband. To make a long story short, we got there, the kid had an MRI and a couple of other tests. They kept him overnight for observation. Because of COVID I wasn't able to get in but I stayed in the parking lot in case there was a need for anything or just moral support. I left when the husband arrived. They brought him home the day after. He is suffering from headaches and he keeps forgetting stuff. He doesn't remember anything from the fall, ambulance or helicopter ride. When I was finally able to talk to my son, he said D wasn't wearing his helmet. I swear these boys are so vain about their hair, that's the whole reason they don't wear helmets. He also said what scared him was not so much the fall but that D was seizing. So stupid me thinks NOW he is gonna wear a helmet. I asked will you wear it now? He smirks and says sure. But I know he won't. I hate this rule that after 18 you don't have to wear the helmet. These kids, bcz they are still kids even at 18, don't have the maturity to know what is good or bad for them. Argh! Anyway D is doing Ok for now and hopefully won't be trying new tricks anytime soon.
QOTD: cookies. Icecream. Anything sweet.
Accountability: not very good during the crisis. I always go back to food when I need to be strong for something or somebody. Father's Day I ate too many cookies/sweets/dessert etc. But back at it with normal food and keeping it together.
My meals yesterday:
- B: protein coffee
- L: Costco egg bites
- S: frozen fage yogurt + SF syrup
- D: TJ shrimp stir fry
- E: none, being lazy
Happy taco Tuesday, everybody.

Oh gosh what a day from hell. I can't believe they won't wear helmets. That is crazy. When we were kids it was never a law. I don't even think you could buy a bike helmet in the 70's. I sure hope your DS learned a valuable lesson.
