Squeeee! New kitten! What is her coat like? I can't wait to see pictures!

Many people would name her Oreo. I like to give my kitties people names. We had a gray male called Grady and my gray female is Gracie (both based on their gray color).
Black and white cats are often called Tuxedo cats, so people like to give them more formal names. I once had a Minnie Pearl and made her little hats with price tags attached.

I had a black and white cat named Oreo once. When I was a teenager I had two brothers....Oscar and Oreo. They were the sweetest cats! Also had a black and white female named Molly and she loved to talk! That's so cute about Minnie Pearl! Love that name for a cat too! My dad used to call me Minnie Pearl because I'd forget to cut the tags off. Lol

I used to think I would get old and be the neighborhood cat lady. But I realized that it takes a lot of money to really care for a pet. Routine vet visits, dental work, medicines, flea control, grooming, food, treats, and litter. Also time for brushing, playing, and just giving enough time and affection. For me, one is all I can really handle well now.
My Gracie is thirteen and I hope to have for a lot more years. But I am pretty sure she will be my last pet. I don't think it would be fair for me to bond with another pet when I am not sure if I will be around long enough to outlive them.
So my future plan is to take in foster kittens and take care of them until they find their fur-ever homes. Minnie is the gray cat. I lost her brother Danny to cancer a few years ago.

Oh my goodness, Minnie is so pretty! So sorry to hear about her brother. If that's him in the picture...he's a handsome boy! Yes, cats or any pet can be really expensive. I wanted so badly to adopt her brother too because I hated splitting them up, but I knew 2 was my limit since I already had one at home and he can be a handful. I've had cats all my life growing up....one of them just passed away last year. She lived with my parents since she was the family pet since my brother and I were teenagers. She passed just shy of her nineteenth birthday. Her name was Maggie and boy we all had a hard time when she passed. It never gets easier losing a pet. I think that's awesome you wanting to foster! What a wonderful idea!

I will always miss Danny. He went from being a strong, healthy cat to just wasting away. He lost about half his weight within a few weeks and the vet said he was too weak to try any kind of surgery. I took him home for a while, but he was in pain and not going to get better, so I had to take him back and have him put to sleep. It was so terribly sad.
That picture was about a month before he got sick. He was very affectionate and liked to take walks like a dog. I lived in the country then and we would walk in the woods and fields and he would just follow beside me. He also wanted to go for car rides and would sit in the front seat and just enjoy looking out the window.
Sometimes I would be at a drive through and the person at the window would say, "That is a cat!". Cats sitting on the front seat are something you don't see very often.
