What's on your Saturday menu? 06/20/2020

Good morning! No thread yet, so I hope no one minds if I created one!

QOTD - If money and time were of no consequence, what would you be doing with your life every day?

For me, it would absolutely be living the animal rescue life. I try to do as much as I can, and donate to worthy causes but my dream would be to truly immerse myself in it. Someday, I will have a fluffy cow too!

Breakfast - Fasting, so hot black coffee (out of cold brew dang it), and topo chico

Lunch - up in the air, taking daughter for her COVID test so may grab something while out

Dinner - I didn't get pizza last night so...maybe vegan pizza??

I hope you all have a wonderful Saturday!

Christina

Let it begin with me.

Thank you for starting the thread today! I am not doing much today - possibly floating around on our pond. I went to the ocean beach yesterday but I think it will be busier today than I am comfortable with.

QOTD: If money and time were of no consequence, I would be living on the water (vs near the water) and I would be traveling frequently (maybe 4-6 times a year). Of course this would have to be in "normal" times.

TSS: 4 years, 3 months

B: Coffee! WW zero point banana/egg pancake

L: tuna salad and cottage cheese

D: Leftover halibut, salad and veggies (unless DS cooks, but it will be fish regardless)

S: cauliflower fried rice and/or yogurt with strawberry compote and/or blueberry lemon yogurt pie and/or WW one point muffin

QOTD - if I didn't have to make a living at something, I would open a tea/coffee shop and bespoke travel itinerary company -- I wouldn't do the booking/travel agent thing but would be like the fancy trip-tic you used to get at AAA. I'd meet with you and design your dream itinerary---and of course I would have to travel a lot to make sure I could make your dream trips the best. The tea/coffee shop because everyone I've met that sells tea and coffee seems so happy.

today I've folded all the laundry, had some coffee, I am bound and determined to finish my puzzle this weekend so some time on that, I'm going to do the elliptical, visit my mom and then chill the rest of the day, after I do my food planning for the week so I can shop and prep tomorrow.

have a great weekend

Good morning all! So I got my low carb blueberry muffins made last night. Ended up using almond flour instead of whole wheat flour and used Greek yogurt instead of milk. Also decided to mash up a couple ripened bananas and throw in and I sweetened with some Splenda. Well they didn?t turn out too pretty. Kind of flat, but they smelled heavenly and of course I had to try one hot out of the oven and boy were they delicious! I think I will be making these again! My accountability was pretty good yesterday aside from the hot muffin I ate last night that wasn?t on plan, but so worth it. And the scale was down again this morning so I can?t complain!

Today I?m meeting a friend for lunch at Olive Garden so I?m trying to eat really good the rest of the day so I don?t go over my calorie limit by much. Then tomorrow my brother wants to meet for brunch before we head over to spend the day with dad. So tomorrow will be an over calorie day as well, but I?m going to try to make smart choices as much as possible. Also gotta make the peanut butter chocolate pie for dad tonight. And then at some point I need to clean my house because it?s driving me nuts! Got some good news yesterday morning during our work meeting. They are allowing us to take home our work computers with dual monitors so that we can work more efficiently. They want us to continue working from home for as long as possible. That suits me just fine! I am in no way looking forward to going back into the office!

QOTD: I?d love to travel all over!

B: premier shake

B2: coffee w/splenda X 2

L: soup and salad....and let?s be real here, probably 1 breadstick.

D: TBD....something light

S: L&F yogurt or some fruit or maybe a muffin

Mornin' All!

I'm supposed to meet a friend today for coffee at a place that has a huge porch (i.e., lots of outdoor seating), but it's supposed to rain off and on all day, so who knows. They have indoor seating as well, but I only do outdoor these days. Much safer, especially since we're likely to be there for a couple of hours. Dinner tonight at MIL's. She's making pork & peppers. I have no idea how many calories are in that (depends on how much oil she uses), so I'll have to eat lightly the rest of the day. I'm on a roll and do NOT want to go over my calorie range. I doubt I'll be able to do any outdoor exercise, so I'll take a rest day - or maybe do some yoga in my family room.

accountability has been good, weight back down to what it was pre-colonoscopy. Whew. Now...to march on...

QOTD: I'd do pretty much what I'm doing now, except I'd travel a lot more. I'd also think about getting a condo in some warm climate so I can escape the winter. Having a lot of money would also allow DH to retire (he's 10 years younger than me - so he's got a few more years), so he could join me in my travels and at the winter condo!

TSS: 5 y

B: lemon/blueberry yogurt pie with 2 T light Cool Whip, coffee with half & half

MS: more coffee - or maybe a latte with 2% milk (at the coffee place - if I go, that is...)

L: maybe some soup I made a few days ago (tomato/kale/potato/sausage) and a skewer of Costco chicken

AS: protein shake. Maybe one of the frozen yogurt popsicles I made yesterday, or a L&F yogurt with raspberries

D: pork & peppers

I have SF Jello, SF popsicles, and some cut-up raw veggies if needed, too...

have a great Saturday!!

Other than feeling happier when I checked my bank account balances, there is nothing that I would really want to change. I would probably donate more to people and causes that I find worthy.

I find that physical wants have become less and less important with each year. Right now I am planning a complete kitchen remodel, but it will never be as exciting as the first kitchen remodel back in the 1970's. That was our first home and everything we did to it was new and very exciting.

Travel is great and fun, but there are so many memories that cannot be duplicated. The first time flying over Ireland, the very first sight of Buckingham palace from a seat on British Airways, the first time meeting my Irish aunts, uncles, and cousins.

You cannot duplicate the first trip to an art museum, the first week at summer camp, the first time in a luxury hotel, at the San Francisco wharf, jumping from a plane into freefall, watching wild goats play at the top of a mountain that took three car hours to reach the top, eating in a San Jose restaurant, or spending the afternoon at Big Sur.

I know that there are always new memories to make, but I marvel at the fact that books, television, and movies let me experience any part of the world that I am interested in. The things I value health and life itself cannot be bought.

Good Saturday morning everyone.

what a long night last night. Some storms(which we desperately needed) and lots of pain. Ugh. I'm so tired this morning.

not much planned and hoping it stays that way. I have three appointments next week...Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. I see the pain NP Monday and need to try and figure out what all I want to ask her about my surgery. Also I need something else for pain as the Tylenol 4s are not touching it anymore. The muscle relaxer makes me a space cadet but does help me relax some what. Tuesday I have the laser treatment in my left eye. Wednesday is the PCP appointment. Yay... lol

qotd: an advocate for mental health reform.

b:Cheerios and almond milk

s:1 small pancake ugh

l:scrambled eggs
