Sorry to hear about the loss.

Re: RH...I did have gestational diabetes and was pre-diabetic. I react poorly to too much sugar alcohol and have to watch my carbs and keep my protein/sugar/carbs/fat all in check. If I eat too many simple carbs (think granola/chips..that kind of thing) about 2 hours later I start sweating and all of that. I keep the 4 packs of peanut butter sandwich crackers as that seems to bring my sugar up but not too fast (it's a blend of sugar/carbs/protein). Kind of hard to explain and I do try and not put myseld in that situation since for me I can avoid it if I stay on plan.

Thank you this explains a lot. I better read up and talk to doctor to see if she feels this happens to me. I'll say yes now I need to find out how to control it.

Late to the party, here because I was in meetings all day, but i am the Queen of RH at this point. I was NOT diabetic before surgery. At this point, any carb can send me into an RH episode. Sometimes it's not even triggered by carbs. I've had it after eating broccolini and I've also had it after eating bacon. It's a miserable existence. I know a bunch of people here know my history, but I'm not sure you do so a quick background. I had VSG in 2014. About a year after I developed unrelenting GERD that was not manageable with medication. So, I converted to RNY in July 2016. Around December 2016, I started to have dumping (I dump off of fat AND/OR carbs) and RH. I was referred to an endocrinologist who has conducted many, many tests. Including a 72 hour hospitalized fast so they could see if I had an insulinoma. At this point, I wear a continuous glucose monitor that checks my blood sugar continuously. True RH is a miserable existence, and there is very little I can do to prevent it. We're currently considering converting BACK to VSG since my Doctor feels that for my health (physical and mental) he'd rather try to control the GERD which is almost guaranteed to come back if I convert back, than have me live with the RH. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask. I'm more than happy to share how it feels, how I deal with it, etc.

Good morning! Carbs -- ACK!! Didn't I just say (type) yesterday that carbs make me feel icky?? Why then did I eat like a 1/2 c of the mashed potatoes I made for the hubs? That laid me out for a bit. UGH. I'm going to remember my most current lesson and not try carbs like that for a while. Back to full force at work today, should be an easier day. Based on the number of emails in my inbox, maybe not. Love the challenge.

QOTD: Lady Ruth Mashed Potatoes of Old Navy!

Menu:

B: coffee and 1/2 PP shake

L: roasted chicken, refried beans, cheese, sour cream (Still YUM!)

D: hubs and friend are ordering in pizza. I am staying six feet away, so probably roasted chicken and edamame.

S: 1/2 PP shake, 1/2 oz beef jerky

Peace, Everyone!

QOTD- Lady Katheryn Yogurt of Dollar Tree. My grandmothers first name, but she went by Irene her middle name. Not sure why you wouldn't use the other name I like it much better.

I got my hair done yesterday it feels so wonderful. I also get my nails done tomorrow. But the rumor is they want to lock us down again. I think that will not go over well.

Accountability was horrendously bad! I'm good in the mornings but by the afternoon those snacks sneak in there. I need to banish them from the house, it would make things easier. My clothes are feeling tight, and I hate that sensation of squeezing into my jeans and having them cut into me all day. I absolutely refuse to buy any new clothes, so it's back on track for me.

It rained buckets yesterday and there was thunder, but today it's supposed to be 71 and by the weekend in the 80's I can't wait.

The garden isn't doing so great other than what appears to be a record crop of weeds. Off to Home Depot today to buy some plants, maybe the sun will help. I honestly think we put the starts out too quickly, but it's too late now.

Have a great day everyone!

I have to plan snacks in. I always have several in my plan and may eat from 1-4 of them. Usually not 4, but if I did at least they don't screw up my whole day.

I just checked - the name Irene was really popular from about 1890-1930, so maybe that was it. Of course, the name Katheryn (and it's various spellings) was as well...
