Whats on your Monday Menu?
Yes, I will go. I went in Florida before we came home (essentially the same deal with outside dining). I am really not that nervous as long as the wait staff has solid rules and wears masks (it differed a bit from restaurant to restaurant in Florida there because not restaurants required masks - but I think Mass will be more consistent). I think the wait staff are potentially at more risk than the patron since we won't have masks on when we eat.
Though Florida is having an uptick, it isn't in the area I lived in but around the spots that had a lot of covid-19 all the way along (Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach counties).
I am kind of beyond feeling overly nervous, as life feels too short.

hi all
I'm back - sorry for the MIA. I was on my 'off' week last week so was partly in TN/ part GA. Was also working my second job AKA personal shopper/online seller so was busy with that. got some new amazing pieces in also so that was great.
Yesterday I made a ton of stirfry, broc, and green beans which will probably take me 3 days to eat all of.
food plan today:
coffee (2)
water (2)
b: cauliflower oatmeal ?
l: grilled chick and vegg
s: shake with almond milk and instant coffee- my version of the java chip
d: TBD probably more veggies and meat
s: unsure...
Mornin' All!
it's going to be H-O-T today, so I'd better get out early to exercise. I have Mah Jong at 10:00, so I'll try to get out for a quick walk or bike ride before then. I need to do weights today, too, but I can probably go to the gym this afternoon since it's air conditioned. Torrential rains are on tap for tomorrow and Wednesday (it's that tropical storm - yes, we're even getting the tropical storm up here in Wisconsin), so not sure what exercise it going to look like in general this week...
Accountability was good yesterday, but I'm feeling like a blob this morning. May still be from my overindulgence the day before. Ugh.
QOTD: I love history. The plan when I was in my late 20s was to get my PhD in some aspect of early 20th century European history, but I was afraid I'd end up having to teach in some podunk town out in the middle of nowhere, if I was lucky enough to get a tenure track position at all. I've lived in enough crappy places that I was NOT going to risk doing that again. So...that was that (I got a library degree instead - with the original intention of becoming an archivist, given my interest in history - but then I ended up in just plain academic library work -although I WAS in charge of buying the history books for the library, so there's that...). Anyway, I love early 20th century European and American history (I love the Tenement Museum too, Julia!) - especially the periods between the world wars in Europe, and urban history in the US. I love reading about the various immigrant groups, the formation of labor unions, etc. And I also love British history - pretty much all of it - esp up to and including the English Civil War.
TSS: 5 y
B: protein pancakes with plain Greek yogurt and blueberry compote, coffee with half & half
MS: protein shake
L: chocolate "mousse" (made with cottage cheese & protein powder) with light Cool Whip and raspberries
AS: yogurt pie, or maybe a L&F yogurt with a skinny bagel with light cream cheese
D: I was going to say 2 Costco chicken skewers, but I keep for getting I have last Wed night's Chinese leftovers in the downstairs fridge, so maybe a cup of that instead
have a great day, everyone!!

Good morning and happy Monday. I had a great weekend also, enjoyed some time with my sister and niece on Saturday (socially distance pedicures are a lot like normal pedicures just with a chair in between and a mask on) and then yesterday I had a killer Pilates work out (my arms are still dead) and chopped 5 inches off my hair. I have missed the salon, my stylist was very pleased I had managed to avoid cutting my hair myself!).
i start the week with two very low meeting days, which is amazing, I can actually work on work!
qotd - saying I have a shelf of Romanov history isn't really narrowing down the era much, given it covered a little over 300 years but it really is my favorite. I've also started reading a lot more in the 1600-1800 exploration vein, recently.
on tap today is a bike ride after work for exercise (I'm on track with my working out every day in June) and my meal plan for today is
coffee with half and half X3
cin raisin carbmaster cottage cheese with .5 oz pistachios
4 oz ever roast deli chicken and 1 slice cheddar
1 jalapeño Cheddar buffalo pork sausage
snacks are a light and fit and a quark
hope your Monday and week are spectacular!

My grandparents lived in the tenements in New York so that museum in on my must do list the next time I go to New York. I love all history and get involved in any of it. I am currently watching Outlander for the first time, so right now very involved in Scotland in the 1700's.
In the fall (fingers crossed) I volunteered to give guided tours to schoolkids at the historical buildings in my city. Finger crossed because of the virus situation.
Real life begins where your comfort zone ends
Good morning All! We had a very relaxed weekend. Spent Saturday looking at motor homes and dreaming of retirement in a few years. Social distancing made it better as they didn't sic a sales person on you the second you walked on site. We successfully narrowed down our wish list even further. No set window to purchase, but I remember now how much I want to be sure it has an actual oven and usable space for the grand kids to sleep. Sunday we took a nice long walk with the dogs, and had brunch on the patio of one of our local small businesses. We split a plate and sat in the sunshine. A good day all around.
QOTD: I'm not a history buff for sure. But last year, I ended up reading several books from the women's point of view of Rockefeller's, Vanderbilt's, etc. Fascinating stuff for me on how being accepted into high society was the be all, end all for those families.
Menu:
B: coffee and 1/2 PP shake
L: homemade turkey chili with avo, sour cream and cheddar cheese
D: Hubs wants steak, so I'll have an ounce or two of that, and some avo/tomato salad. He bought a bag of avo's for just the two of us, so I'm making as many things as I can think of with it. (I feel like I would kill for some avocado toast, but I haven't had bread since last August and I am afraid to break the dam.)
Peace, Everyone!
