Whats On Your Saturday Menu RNYers (and a few VSGers:)
It is a struggle for all of us. Try to find go-tos that won't break the bank if you eat them and maybe plan snacks?
Giving away your former clothing might help. I used to save all my clothing when I dieted. I had clothes from size 2-16. I dumped anything too big while losing after WLS. I think it reinforced the permanence of the weight loss.
You have done great and you've got this!

Thanks! This place has definitely helped me. It's nice to know I'm not alone. Yeah, I try to keep nuts, fruits, protein bars, sugar free fudgesicles etc. on hand for when I get those cravings. They definitely come in handy. Maybe that's what I need to do is give away all of my pre surgery clothes so I have no option but to keep the weight off! Having that safety net isn't doing me any good.

Morning! Since I cut out eating breakfast my restriction is fierce for some reason. Maybe this happens with intermittent fasting? I'm not fasting because I drink heavy cream and half and half in my three cups of coffee.
We went and bought a porch swing this morning from someone in our neighborhood this morning! I'm super excited to have a front porch swing. We otherwise don't have many plans today. It's really hot, so we'll probably just hang out and read books.
QOTD: In relation to WLS, it took me a long time to realize that over restriction of food does detriment to weight maintenance. When you're not getting enough food (while in maintenance, and not in the first year PO) all you think about is...food. What to cook, when your next meal is, how delicious it will be. I craved food all.the.time. Since I started eating more - which it's been 2 years now - I no longer feel the urge to eat all.the.things and I've given up (or very rarely eat) a lot of the things I used to crave (like ice cream, and peanut butter). I had a couple melt downs over how badly I wanted Fro-yo. I can't imagine those kind of cravings anymore.
My Food:
- Coffee w/ Cream x3
- Eggs, Sausage, Cheese, Cauliflower
- Better Cheddar and Veggies
I got in a 5k walk this morning before it really started heating up.

Hey all. Not going to post a menu because I am honestly still figuring weekends out. I used to be so disciplined when I was working outside of the house--I had cooking and planning done on weekends and everything packed to grab. Then weekends were mostly leftovers and stuff. But with no reason to pack food, and way fewer trips to the grocery store I am having a hard time with my planning. But anyway, it's hotter then hell here and I am bored so here I am :)
QOTD: Getting better at work life balance! I have almost always given work 1000% of my time and energy. Last year was a big wake up call for my health when I did it in such a stressful environment. I am really rocking it this year. I am walking away after an 8 hour day and coming to terms with no feeling guilty when I leave an email or call unanswered for more than a day if its not an emergency.
I had those times too (giving my all), but ultimately your own health (mental and physical) is more important than any job.

DH has gotten better about that since he's been working at home. He used to always think everything was an "emergency", so he'd stay late all the time and do things like answer student emails at night or on weekends. Like....they're really going to expect an answer right away when they email you at 11:00 at night? Every time he said something was an "emergency", I'd say "is there blood? Did someone die?". If no, then it's not an emergency.
