GERD/Heartburn issues

I have been having some issues with this stuff. I know it's not unheard of to have it after RNY but I honestly am very disappointed that my revision did not fully take care of it. I am on omeprazole 20mg twice a day and still find myself having issues with certain things.
those things include anything with spice. I can do most herbs that I've tried but most spices and even salt and pepper really set me off. I have soooo much going on outside of this issue that I've been trying to ignore it. Big mistake.
my bariatric surgeon is aware and wants to do an EGD in July or August if the PPI doesn't do the trick. He would of done it now but with Covid stuff being a little high atm he didn't want to risk it.
Do any of you have tips for bland foods? I can't keep down plain chicken or most poultry. Haven't really been able to since the revision. Any greasy stuff also sets it off.
if you've read this whole thing...thanks. Any tips are appreciated.

I'm back on a PPI (Protonix/pantoprazole) due to mine, which has helped immensely, but prior to that, I had to avoid spicy food and acidic food (like tomatoes and citrus fruits) for sure. Even things like peaches would sometime set it off. And coffee - although I REFUSED to give that up, so my morning coffee was always accompanied by lots of OTC antacids, like Tums and Rolaids - as well as natural remedies like ginger tablets and licorice tablets. I also had to avoid fruity lo-cal beverages - and even water would sometimes set it off!
my heart goes out to you - GERD is no joke!!

Oh how I miss coffee! Even decaf & cold brew just about slay me.
thanks so much for the reply and suggestions!
