What's on your (PHOTO FRIDAY) Menu?

Yes, I feel like I need a seatbelt to buckle up when I read the newspaper right now. It's literally too much to wrap my head around. I am so worried about everything and everyone that it is making me a little numb to it all which is equally unhealthy.

I'm very scared at the moment. So much hate that has been normalized...it's just so scary.

Mornin' All!
Yesterday afternoon I went to the gym for the first time in two months (it opened on Tuesday). They seem to be handling this well. They have whole floors blocked off and limited services. I went to the fitness center floor. Usable machines are spaced six feet apart, and only ten people are allowed in the room at one time (they were maybe five when I was there), so that an employee can spray down each machine after it's used. Masks are required (although if you're actively exercising and having trouble breathing, you can remove them - but you have to put them back on when you're done), and everyone gets quizzed and has their temperatures taken when they enter the building. The employee said the place has been pretty dead this week, though - they haven't had to worry about the 10-person limit in the fitness room. I guess it's due to the nice weather (people are exercising outside - summer DOES happen to be one of the gym's low times, after all) and people still being scared to go to places like gyms. Anyway, I did the weight machines. Amazing how much strength you lose after being away for two months. Hopefully I can build it again fairly quickly...
today is shaping up to be a beautiful day. I have to take one of the cats in later this morning for his yearly physical, and then I'll probably go for a bike ride. I'll also do some walking with DH later on this afternoon or evening when he's done with work. We both could use it.
accountability has been great all week and my weight is down even more this morning. YAY!!! Seven more lbs to go!
QOTD: when I was really young, I was afraid there was a monster under my bed who would grab my foot while I was sleeping. And I remember after reading Salem's Lot when I was a teen that some vampire would knock on my bedroom window in the middle of the night.
TSS: 4y11m (only four more days until I'm an official "vet"!)
B: the last piece of yogurt pie (this one was chocolate with cranberries. Not crazy about this one and will be glad that it's gone. My favorite is still Liz's lemon/blueberry one, followed by the cheesecake one (although the latter has to be topped with a homemade fruit compote!). Coffee with half & half.
S1: protein shake
L: 2 Costco chicken skewers with some kind of dip
S2: L&F yogurt with diced mango. Maybe a skinny bagel with light cream cheese
D: might make spaghetti with meatless meatballs. Or I might pick up some white fish or chicken thighs and make tacos.
have a good day, everyone!!
this is DH's new co-worker. He spends a lot of time sleeping on the job...
I am stuck on the lemon blueberry. DS's cat likes to help him on his laptop keyboard too!

Good Friday morning menu friends.
not much in the plans for today. My nieces and nephew will be here for about 6 hours. I'm not feeling all to well right now. What little I slept I slept hard and my neck hurts along with the back stuff. I'm really tired so it promises to be a loooooong day.
qotd:Jurassic Park scared the crap out of me when it came out! Not much scared me but that one unnerved me.
food is kind of up in the air. I'm aiming for soft foods all day as my stomach is also upset.
Percy and me.

OK, see? I'm not a cat person and pics like that actually scare me, because you can see all the details. I feel like if the cat goes wacko it can kill me. Your photography is phenomenal and those whiskers are something else. But those teeth and tongue scare me. Funny, even the most ferocious dog doesn't scare me the way a cat can, just by looking at me intensely.
Your b&w pic is BEAUTIFUL!

Same. Also, I read that house cats are anatomically the same as predatory cats, just smaller. I don't know if that is true or not, but it gives me pause.

We have a lot of bobcats in our area. A lot of night time security cameras catch them at night prowling. They scare the heck out of me, and of course remind me of cats.

anatomically, maybe - but they have the wildness bred out of them. There's a fairly recent breed (a few years old) that's a cross between a serval and house cat. But the first two or three generations are not sold as pets since they're still pretty wild (they're used more for breeding purposes) (breed name is Savannah). After that, they're fine as pets. Bengals are also a cross between a wild cat and a domestic cat, but they've been around a lot longer and there are a lot of them around, so they can breed them with each other now and they don't need to bring in a wild cat anymore.
