What's on your Wednesday Menu?

Morning everyone! It was so nice to hear from everyone yesterday :)
It's already Wednesday! I love these Monday holidays... I have been sort of thinking about asking to take every Monday off all summer, instead of a whole week, since I can't go anywhere, anyway. In some ways I don't want to "waste" my vacation, but on the other hand it's a nice time to take it easy and really enjoy my at-home summer. I have a check in with my boss this afternoon, so I think I will bring it up and see what she thinks.
I have a hella busy day today. I am in zoom meetings straight through without a break from 8:30am - 4pm. I am thoroughly unprepared for at least two of the meetings, so I need to get my ass onto the treadmill, and get moving on work.
QOTD: Are you strongly connected to your heritage? I am not at all--I am a total mutt! My mom's side of the family is originally from Scotland, Ireland & Germany, but both sides of her parent's family had been in upstate NY for several generations. And my dad's side is from all over the place--England, Scotland & Mexico. I never had any foods or a traditions related to my family's heritage...
Morning! I slept meh last night. We're looking at a bunch more rain through Saturday. We got over 6" of rain last week, so we're really not in need of more! We planted a veggie garden in pots and we're at a risk of losing our peppers if this doesn't knock it off!
I tracked my food yesterday for the first time in a long time (in nearly 2 years actually!). I did it out of curiosity as I've seen a bunch of people I follow on Instagram who have had quarantine re-gain trying to calculate their BMR and calorie deficit and cripes sometimes large people are calculating very low calorie goals (when they are not in the first year post surgery, and are still 200+lbs). I ended up with about 1,800 calories yesterday - it was a normal day of eating for me. I may do that a few more days just to see what my days turn out to be.
QOTD: Nope, not at all. My maiden name is very much pure Irish and given my name is Erin, well it's obvious where my roots lie. I actually think my Mom's family was Dutch and given where we we're from that makes sense. It's an area that was Dutch occupied first (but not for long before the British took it over!). I've tried a few times to look at our history, but I've never gotten back far enough to really know too much.
My Food:
- Coffee w/ Cream x2
- (2) Eggs, (2) Bacon, Cornbread w/ Butter
- Turkey, Cauliflower w/ Cheese
- TBD, it's my oldest daughters turn for dinner but I'm thinking maybe Beef Tenderloin.

I've been maintaining the same weight (within 10lbs) for about 2 years. I went down a bit while training for my half marathon and then back up a bit when I was done (and now injured and can not run right now). But, I'm within the same 2lbs as 1 year ago today. So, whatever I'm eating is obviously maintenance calories. I think yesterday was probably a "normal" day, but my average is probably a bit higher. I'm going to track for several days to get an average as I'm just curious.

That is cool that you have kept the dinner rotation thing going. I wish someone besides me would prepare dinner in my house some time. It would be nice to have a night off. We have only had take out 1x since March 17th. Guess who cooked every other meal. However on the upside DH has taken off 30lbs. (Yes he was trying)

I've always been the one in charge of dinner and this quarantine pretty much broke me. I demanded they all start helping. My husband is doing 2 nights per week and my two daughters are each doing one. Then we're doing takeout or what we call "choose your own adventure" one night per week. I've found it interesting to see and facilitate their choices and capabilities with food. But, I've been able to supplement with veggies if need be.
In addition, we have added family rotation for bathroom cleaning, dishwasher loading/unloading, picking up the 1st floor, and dinner clean up. Oh, and we gave everyone an assigned laundry day.

I wish my husband could/would cook - but if he did, we'd be eating cereal or frozen dinners every night - or take-out. He can't even manage grilled cheese sandwiches (I've shown him how to make them a zillion times, and after the zillionth, I spotted him spraying Pam on the bread. I give up!!). I'm a little worried about what's going to happen if I start getting health issues or dementia at some point. I guess we'll be eating take-out and frozen TV dinners for every meal...

Since Grim and I don't eat the same things, we are each on our own to fend for ourselves for most meals, which is fine. But when I was so terribly busy last year, it was awful because I would either eat the steak he made, or find some easy to grab crap. No wonder I gained!
I always wondered if Grim sipped on something called a Fit Frappe with you.

Nope.
She will eat anything I make. But it's a really short list. Outside of those half dozen things, I won't touch anything on the rest of her menu. Ick.
