What's on your Tuesday Menu, RNYers?
on 5/5/20 5:52 am
Hahah, I didn't realize taco Tuesday and cinco De mayo merged today!
i would probably cave for a fresh home made English muffin.
qotd - I have met David Tennant, Alex Trebek, John Barrowman, Mark Sheppard, Stephen Amell, Bruce Campbell and I shook Ian McKellen's hand after a play.
I finally made the roast that I planned so it will feature in my menu all week! First time making one in the pressure cooker, very tender.
i have my work out in and a social zoom this evening, plus they did the rough in for my solar panels yesterday so some type of state inspection on it today, plus the usual work stuff. Should be a decent Tuesday.
Menu today will be
coffee and half and half x3
breakfast - scrambler egg with cheddar
lunch - ever roast deli chicken
dinner - roast
snack - light and fit greek frozen

I am so jealous you have met some of the most gorgeous men! John Barrowman does it for me, yeah I know he's gay but so good looking. Same with Stephen Amell, I'm rewatching Good Omens and love David Tennant. Mark Sheppard could talk to me all day long, love his accent.

It was during the first year of Arrow and there was no one waiting to talk to Stephen, so he talked with us for about 30 minutes. My nephew (who was not there) did competitive archery at the time so my BFF and I knew enough to have a good chat about bows and arrows.
I've met john (and his family) at several events, he is delightful. His husband gets mad props for being able to put up with him all the time though, I think it would be exhausting!
i was hoping to get a new, post WLS photo with David Tennant at ComicCon this summer but it's been cancelled. He will always. E my favorite Doctor. I'll see if I can dig out the old photos for frisay

Good morning. We had our pilot zoom bariatric support group meeting last night for the Northshore system in Chicago. The head of the dept predicts we won't be together until there is a vaccine or a bulletproof treatment. The hall they schedule support group can't be social distanced, especially when we get about 50 people in attendance pretty regularly. So they wanted to see how the meeting would go with the vets last night. There were 16 of us on the call. I thought it went pretty well, though those who don't have corporate jobs couldn't really figure out Zoom. That will likely be an issue for some going forward. 3 were even, 12 were up 4 to 8 pound and then I got boo'd since I was down 6 pounds since the lockdown. Actually they were pretty happy I could generate some momentum. One lady that was up 8 pounds had her office set up in her kitchen. She said she didn't know what to do, then I said - hey, can't you work anywhere else but the kitchen. She said it was the only unclaimed space right now. I could see the boxes of sugared cereal on the counter behind her. That would be tough for anyone.
QOTD - Ron Popeill (sp - pocket fisherman guy, etc.) was on a flight with DW and I and we were talking to him as we boarded the flight to Chicago. He was cool. Then the funny thing - we were on the same flight back to Philly later that week. I said - hey, stop stalking us. One time during the filming of Dolly Parton's Straight Talk I was walking around downtown (there for a meeting) and turned the corner onto Michigan Ave and crashed into James Woods. Boring!!! Nothing like my college roomate who loves baseball. He was seated once next to a guy in an LA Dodgers cap and jacket with long hair and a beard. He said he was having so much fun talking with this guy about all the stats etc. There was a two hour delay and he said - he was happy because he loved talking to this guy. Then the started boarding and he went up with the First Class call. A guy behind my roomate turned and said - Dude, how cool was that. My roomate was like what? You were talking to Michael Douglas for the last three hours. He had no idea and he loved Michael Douglas, but he didn't look anything like he normally did.

Good morning JB and Menuers,
Enjoy your afternoon off you deserve it JB. I wish there was a day off for me in sight however, until everyone gets back to the office I don't see it anytime soon.
I was going to do bloodwork today but when I pulled up to the testing center it looked full. I could not believe the amount of people in the waiting room. I will schedule and go at a time there will be less people. It's not a fasting bloodwork so there should be no problem.
I will be making City chicken for Sundays Mothers day dinner we plan on having out on my brothers deck weather permitting. Does anyone here know what City Chicken is or this this a Burgh thing?
QOTD: I met Bruce Springsteen in my 20's but I was super drunk and slipped and fell in front of him. So embarrassing (I think) I was to drunk to care. And Never met but Steve Harvey was at a table next to us in the Deli at Mirage in Vegas. I saw Sinbad in the LA Airport and he shook my hand . And I actually played craps with Woody Harrelson in the Flamingo in Vegas. I spent a lot of time in Vegas in the Mid 80's Early 90's. It was cheap to fly there and My BFF would drive out from Long Beach and we have shared some great times there.

P.S. well curiosity got the best of me, so I had to google it. City chicken is a Polish-American dish, and....it says it was/is common in Cleveland and Pittsburgh!
