For those of you who lost hair, how long did it go on? Did you lose a lot? I am four months out and have been losing hair for about a month- it's manageable but my hair was thin to begin with so I am getting nervous. I am getting 80+ grams of protein and faithfully taking my vitamins. I appreciate your thoughts

Mine started between month 3 and 4 and by 12 months out had pretty much stopped.

It's telogen effluvium, so it's not comparable from one person to another. I, for instance, lost virtually nothing, others lose to the point of bald patches.

Just know, it has nothing to do with what you're eating and it will stop.

I didn't lose that much. I knew I was losing SOME because I noticed a lot of extra strands in my combs and brushes after combing/brushing my hair, but if it weren't for that, I wouldn't have noticed. It looked the same - so there's no way anyone else noticed, either.

Mine started in month 5, I believe, and lasted about three months.

it is caused by the anesthesia and will correct itself on its own time frame. There is nothing to do but wait it out , but it will run its cycle and correct itself.

I am 12 years out and still have a lot of hair loss. No matter how much protein I take in, I still have a ton of hair that I find EVERYWHERE, and so does my husband- and it usually finds it's way into his socks and other unmentionable places from the washer/dryer haha. funny for me, not him.

When I go out, I feel self-conscious about it so I got a Halo hair extension and it helps me with a bit of a fuller mane. I like my hair long and wouldn't dream of cutting it short. I also have regrowth that replaces what I think I am losing, but with my long hair, I will need this regrowth to kkkeeeeeeeeeeppp on growing!

All of us experience hair loss on some level and for different lengths of time. And, some have to do with the surgery and others in biology.
