I want to play Animal Crossing! Everyone is so obsessed and I feel out of the loop.

QOTD: Nothing. I need to try doing something new.

Last weekend I finally made myself weigh in. To my horror I had gained 8 pounds since the beginning of March. This week I got back on-track and have lost 4 of those pounds. So now I am down 10 with 20 to go to get back to goal.

Today I have to venture out to get litter for our foster kittens. One is not always using the litter box so I will get some of Dr. Elsy's Kitten Attract litter. That usually works when I have a stubborn kitten. I will wear my mask and be in and out quickly. I really hate going out so I don't go out much. Texas is open again and so many people are out there going crazy.

The kittens are being neutered next weekend and can then be adopted. We also have 2 foster puppies. One leaves on transport on Thursday but the other we may have for a while. She is a handful and I have to figure out have to get her to be more civilized.

That's about it for me. I hope everyone is having a great day!!

No wonder you haven't tried anything new--you've been busy with the animals! Sounds like a busy household. And bless you for loving on your fosters til they can find their forever homes!

Thank you!! Four fosters (plus 5 permanent residents) at once definitely keeps me busy!! We should be down to one foster by next week and then I can focus on her.

I just got back from my errand. It is definitely business as usual here. Only about half the people were wearing masks and way too many people got within 6 feet of me. I had to stop myself from yelling at people to get out of my bubble!!

Good morning! Happy Sunday!

QOTD - I finally took the plunge and signed up for my introductory herbalist course. I've been putting it off, always had something else to do. Finally, I was able to make the choice easier as they had 50% off tuition, it was too good to pass up. Now, I've started working on my supplies, books, etc.

Breakfast - none, fasting. Hot coffee, topo chico

Lunch - Kale salad, vegan grilled cheese

Snack - Fruit smoothie, water, fruit, oat milk, hemp seed protein, chia seed

Dinner - Kale salad (I'm the only one who eats it), toasted pepitas, cottage cheese, strawberries, mandarins, pasta of some sort perhaps.

I hope everyone has had a good weekend!

Fabulous news!! I wish I could make myself take classes for something new, but my old brain does not work well anymore.

What do you plan on doing with an herbalist certification? Is this something you would do part-time or full time?

I knew I wasn't interested in going back to school, because truly, aside from women's studies or Mexican American studies, there's nothing else I would feel passionate about. Herbal-ism, botany, these things have always fascinated me. But I always thought that it was for other people, smarter people, or hippie people, whatever.

This past year I've learned about about myself and I'm finding that I am passionate about lots of things! For now, I am taking the course for self knowledge (using plants medicinally), but if I can eventually work my way into a career doing this, that would be amazing.

That's great!! I am eligible to retire from teaching now, but will probably wait at least 3 more years. That gives me 3 years to figure out what I am passionate about and what I want to do in my next chapter!!
