What's on your Saturday Menu, RNYers?
When it gets warm like this we sometimes get an algae bloom In the ocean in the daytime. At night, it gets agitated with the tide and creates a bioluminescence. We used to take the kids to the beach with pop bottles and the would capture the water and shake it for hours. My friend took this picture last night

We got your cold and gloomy here today! We might get rain this afternoon which I would love (we don't get a ton of rain).
i went to the grocery store this morning and I'm stocked up for another few weeks. The amount of idiots out there made me think I will be happy staying home for longer. People wearing their masks but down around their neck, the people that have no sense of personal space and don't see an issue if they have their cart on the left of the aisle, they are two feet away from it but still on the side and manage to block the whole aisle, when you can't get through and keep the right distance. Ugh, and I did it on one cup of coffee which probably colored my attitude!
QOTD - Cards against humanity is a card game! As a little kid, we played a lot of Uno, Mille Borne, crazy 8s and rummy; when I visit my sister we play spider which is a fun group card game that I really like but have to be retaught every year, and my CAH group, we get together about 3 times a year - 2 horrible human tournaments and then one other game night. Our next one we are doing Telestrations in July.
menu today is a HB egg/Gouda/salami snack pack, a carbmaster cin raisin cottage cheese, coffee with half and half, a bacon cheddar sausage link for dinner and a light and fit greek!
have a fantastic Saturday everyone!

Oh I forgot about Uno and Mille Borne--we did play those when I was young!
I used to play Mille Borne as a kid and we played it with our kids too. I may have to buy it again!

Thanks again for mentioning Mille Bornes and resurrecting my memory! I bought a new version of it to be sent home. My kids both have very fond memories of playing it as I do.

Afternoon! It is absolutely gorgeous out there today. Currently 77 degrees and sunny. I went on a nice 4 mile walk this morning to the new part of the neighborhood. I'm always amazed to see how much progress they make in between my visits. Husband and Kid #2 are out on the trails riding bikes currently. If only I could persuade the teenager to come out of her hidey-hole and get outside. I told Kid #2 that we'd have a picnic tomorrow for lunch. Although, she kindly reminded me that fire ants are a thing, so maybe not. I'm going to put in request for a quote today for a 10' x 10' paver patio in our back yard. I'm really excited to have a patio for a fire pit!
QOTD: We like Skip-Bo and Phase 10. Those are the two we play the most. Someone I follow on IG suggested Nertz, which is apparently like a collective game of solitaire but we need to get some more decks of cards to make it work and haven't yet.
My Food:
- Coffee w/ Cream x3
- Egg, Cheese, English Muffin, Avocado, Strawberries
- Salad (Lettuce, Cucumber, Cauliflower, Avocado, Cheese, Turkey, Ranch)
- Salmon & Vegetables or boneless chicken thighs & veggies (the two meats I have out)
I have figured out a nice analog to the Diet Cherry Limeade I love from Sonic (it's a 25 mile drive so it's not feasible to go everyday!). Crushed ice in a 32oz tumbler, 12oz can of Sprite Zero, (4) lime wedges squeezed in, and then enough Diet Cranberry juice to color it red. Really refreshing and the carbonation is cut quite a lot with the ice and juice. The entire thing is 5 calories or less! Okay, plus whatever is in the lime - but who's counting that?
