Good Morning and Happy Fri-yay! Love the hat! We don't have much planned for the weekend aside from attempting to make pasta. I ordered a pasta roller at the beginning of SIP and it has been in back order but arrived yesterday. Not sure how well it'll go and I won't even eat any but hope to have fun preparing it.
Accountability: I plead the 5th.

Hello my RnY pals! Happy Friday! Friday is my favorite day of the week - so romantic, so much potential! Plus every member of my family was born on a Friday, including me. Venusian babies all!
I had my operation last Wednesday and now eight new 1" incisions have joined my almost invisible 3-year old RnY ones, oh joy! After a rough first four days or so, I'm feeling pretty good most days at this point. I have made an effort to get through the past few days on just a few doses of Tylenol. My normal stamina is still off, of course. Full recovery should be in 5 more weeks. I was in the hospital for one night. My son had to get up at 3 AM in order to deliver me there by 6:30. I had him just drop me off, and not come in when he picked me up - there is still a fair amount of Covid swirling around, so why tempt fate? My two surgeons were wonderful, as were the assisting residents, and the nurses and entire staff were very accomplished and very kind. I'm so glad I was able to be helped by them all. I had a nice private room. Here's one odd thing - I was on a remarkably comfy gurney under a featherweight plastic blanket full of deliciously warm air, gowned up, IVs in. The nurse said it was time to go, and that I would have to hop over onto a narrower table in the O.R., and that that would be an easy hop. She rolled the gurney out of the pre-op room, down a brief hallway, and through double doors - and there my memory abruptly ends. I have absolutely zero recollection of the operating room, of hopping over to the narrower table, etc. Just poof! Gone. I remember clearly the O.R. where my RnY was done, the transfer to the O.R. table, etc. But this time it's just a blank.
I ordered groceries for delivery a couple of days ago, because I'm still not driving. I was so impressed with the way the store handled everything. The person who gathered my order texted me for my approval throughout the process each time something had to be substituted, plus she was able to add something I'd forgotten to include. My entire big order was delivered to my front porch within 70 minutes - from a store that is about 18 minutes away! I was really surprised and pleased. Last time I looked into this service it wasn't at all as timely - they just did a really good job. You guys who live in more densely populated areas may experience deliveries this seamless as a matter of course, but here on the island this constitutes a new level of luxury!
QOTD: Five chuggas. To me, this clearly has the most poetic rhythm.
First: coffee, coffee, coffee with cashew milk and salted caramel SF syrup
B: still in bed here, but I'm thinking eggs with with oyster mushrooms, a few grape tomatoes, and a little cheese: yum! Savory!
L: tuna, spring greens
D: maybe a shrimp sir-fry
Have a wonderful day, my friends!

Hey Cara, so good to hear you are doing better.
I think your "poof" is due to the relax-drug they give you before the complete anesthesia. I had the same experience with WLS. Can't remember anything beyond the pre-op room. For the gallbladder surgery I remember the operating room but then they told me I had a hard time coming out of anesthesia. I guess our bodies react differently every time.

Good morning, everybody!
I am struggling to upload photos this morning, but if I can get it to work, I will post a picture from DD's graduation album. Since they aren't going to have an actual graduation until August (if at all), they got dressed up with their caps and gowns and took pictures around campus.
I'm thrilled that its Friday. We have been having a Friday happy hour on Zoom at 5:30 and if the weather holds up we will do it from outside today. This weekend will be fairly low key, but looking forward to the rest.
QOTD: I'm not particularly well versed in this, but I think that I'm a two chug parent, except on occasions where we really needed to get an extra bit of food in. The fact that I'm on this page probably means that I overestimated the number of times that an extra bit of food was actually needed.
Breakfast: sausage and cottage cheese
Snack: protein bar
lunch: chili
Snack: cheese and wine a happy hour
dinner: lamb
Have a great day, all!
