What's on your (PHOTO FRIDAY) Menu, RNYers?

Happy Friday! OMG, yesterday was bananas at work. I work with 35 schools, and I think I talked to the school leaders for 20+ of them on one afternoon. There were some announcements that caused a bit of panic and I felt like I was more of a therapist than anything else. Hoping today is a little quieter but I think it might actually ramp up with more announcements.

On the plus side, our office has been trying to be a lot more intentional about infusing "fun" into our days. Yesterday we had a birthday party for two of our team members who both turned 30 this week. This is me in my home-made birthday hat :) Tonight we have a virtual work happy hour with games!

Accountability: It was a high point day for me. I had planned on having nachos for lunch as part of a different work party that was rescheduled, but I kept the nachos on the menu! Then Grim ended up making us burgers for dinner in order to use up the hamburger that we don't have room for in the freezer (I managed 1/2 and have the other 1/2 leftover today). I used 31 points for the day, but I have plenty of rollovers left (they reset on Sat and I still have 18). I also went for a 1.7 mile run in the morning and a 3 mile walk at lunch.

QOTD: Ok, this one might be TOO controversial... are you ready? How many 'Chuggas', go before the 'Choo Choo'? I saw this raging debate happening online about this, and I had to get your opinions! Personally, it sounds wrong to me unless there are eight 'Chuggas' before the 'Choo Choo'. How about you?

I will probably have some wine tonight on various zoom meetups this evening, so I will probably dip into those remaining 18 points :)

G'morning all!

Cute homemade hat, JB! I love hearing how people are trying to be creative/supportive during these shelter in place order days.

Long winded explanation about my pics but bear with me. Our street Ts into a dead-end street. Usually from our street I take a right, cross the train tracks (it's old, no more trains) go to the park, on the cliff and you can see the whole ocean. A couple of weeks ago when they closed the parks for Easter week, I asked DH where we should walk Luna. He said take a left. I'm like what do you mean take a left? He said, stay on the tracks, take a left and you'll see. All this time living here, I had never thought the street ends, but the trail keeps going. Nice walks under the trees on the track for that week. The tracks practically took me two beaches down. Then last weekend my son asks me, mom have you gone to the tree? Which tree? There are tons of trees on the trail. Mom, THE TREE!! Once again, I'm completely out of the loop. So last weekend my son and my husband take me to the tree, that is on the trail, when you take a left, and you don't follow the tracks. You go off the tracks, walk on the side of an organic strawberry farm and tada!!! There is a tree with a couch on the branch. And from that couch you have a $1M view. This spot is only 5 mins from our home. We have lived in this house for 19 years and I never knew about it. I guess it's OK sometimes not to follow the rules and take a left! ;)

QOTD: TWO! Chugga chugga choo choo!

Wow, you aren't kidding about the million dollar view! I love it! We live in the CITY so the best I have been able to do is to find some new routes through little quiet neighborhoods, but even still--I definitely stumbled on a drug dealer making a house call when I was walking around this week! I am about 4miles from the nearest natural area and last time I drove over there it was packed, so not worth it. Thankfully we have a nice patch of backyard so when it gets warm, I plan to start doing a lot of my work from the hammock :)

You pictures are absolutely amazing. One time my brother and i took three days to drive from LA to San Francisco. We stopped and walked around beautiful places like this. The area you live in is so beautiful. I remember one day at lunch our waiter told me he was an attorney from New York city who had moved to California for the relaxed lifestyle.

Working as a waiter let him earn a living without the stress of the big city and allowed him to live where he was happy.
