Morning all! Happy Hump Day!

I went to bed feeling pretty blah last night. Mid-afternoon I developed a sore throat, and got really tired, and ended up falling asleep on the couch at 7pm! I still feel a little off this morning, but it's par for the course with the amount of tiny little colds I have developed this year for no good reason... I'm sure it will pass soon, but it's so annoying.

But in more positive news, my treadmill is really cool :) Yesterday I started the day with a 1.6 mile run through a city in Portugal, took a mid-morning walk along the Nile River is Cairo, and then did a ski hike (uphill!). I woke up a little sore this morning, which is not a surprise given how little exercise I had gotten in the last few months. I am going to continue the running series in Portugal, which is deigned to build up running endurance. I feel so blessed to have this option! Oh and JEN--I think my old NordicTrack Elliptical will sync to the app if I put it on my iPad. I mean too check it out last night, but I was too tired. **edited to add that I played around with it this morning--it's over 10 years old so it doesn't have bluetooth, but I used the app and just had to set the resistance and speed myself, but I followed along on a beach run in Hawaii this morning. Win!

Accountability: Good all day, but Grim was kind enough to make me some comfort food for dinner since I was feeling sick, so I skipped what I was supposed to eat and had that instead. I went over my daily points by 3, but have plenty of rollover points.

QOTD: If everything reopened (safely!) like it was pre-quarantine, where would you go first?

TAAAAARGET! And Starbucks. And TJMaxx. And my favorite Taco Restaurant...

Morning! We started a rotation where each of us prepares dinner a couple nights per week (this is keeping my sanity). Last night was Jon's first night and he made us apple salsa. I was highly skeptical, as he has a tendency to just throw things together and worry about if it actually works after the fact but holy crap it was delicious! He served it with Mexican seasoned chicketn and we put that and salsa over rice. I would have never though I'd be eating apples and onions in the same dish.

Tonight it's my older daughter's turn. She's actually my less confident cook of the two of them. She's chose breakfast for dinner and she's making pancakes. She'll have to make them from scratch since we don't have any mix. I will eat the bacon and make myself some eggs and have her prepare me a tiny pancake. Tomorrow my younger daughter is making pulled pork nachos with leftovers from pulled pork on Monday evening. I'll eat those sans chips and BBQ sauce and add sour cream instead (I'm not a BBQ sauce fan).

QOTD: To my favorite coffee shop to sit there and work and people watch. I miss sitting there as much as I miss the coffee. Also, out for Sushi. We got take out sushi for my younger daughter's birthday a couple weeks ago and it just wasn't the same as take out. I also miss weekend traveling. I'd go to the beach for a weekend if I could.

Mmm, I used to make a really yummy crock pot recipe with pork, apples, and onions. I forgot about it, but it was a really yummy recipe that I used to make all the time! I think its awesome that your kids are part of the cooking rotation--what an awesome learning experience for them :) I wish I learned to cook when I was a kid--my mom only baked with me and I think that's why I think I am a confident baker but still terrified to cook a chicken, haha.

As soon as it gets warmer out, I am sure I will change my answer to the beach, but it's still winter here, so I am nostalgic, yet!

That Apple salsa and chicken sound fantastic! When my kids were teenagers we had each of them cook one night a week. Breakfast for dinner happened a lot as did grilled cheese and soup. I didn't care because at least I didn't have to plan and cook it!

Yes, that's exactly how I feel right now. I told them that hot dogs and boxed Mac and Cheese was okay if that's what needed to happen (we otherwise have a very healthy diet). But, I think they'll want to try out new things and my older daughter has asked for help learning to cook meat. I also can always find a super quick easy meal if what they pick doesn't work for me. I'm fine with deli turkey and cottage cheese, or eggs.

Apple salsa sounds really delish.
I also like the rotation idea.

I've been running in the neighborhood around dinner time every evening. I play a game and decide if I had to eat at one of the neighbors which one I would pick to eat at just by the smells coming out the house. Yesterday someone must have burnt dinner cause it was burnt smelling for a full block. I wonder if I was running past your place if I would decide that is where I would have dinner. LOL

I love the dinner rotation! My roommates and I used to do this (except for the one they started a fire making salad, she always cleaned up).

Good morning all! So my batteries for the food scale arrived early. Actually got them yesterday and my food scale is now working again so I'm back in business! Yay! I've already started weighing things and boy am I shocked. Definitely can't rely on my eyeballing things as I was totally off! What I thought was 2 ounces of turkey was actually 4 ounces this whole time so I've been getting double the calories. Ugh!

My accountability was pretty good yesterday. I stayed on plan except for changing out a couple things for healthier options to keep my calories lower. I did have a sugar free fudgesicle and an apple for snacks though that wasn't on plan. My fluid intake was lower yesterday though. Only got in 72 ounces. Hoping to do better today. Just had so much to get done with work yesterday and was so into it that I didn't get much drinking in. I always forget to drink when I'm working even though my bottle of crystal light or water is sitting right there on the desk next to me! Sigh

QOTD: Clothes shopping and getting resized for a new bra! The ones I have now are way too big and I have no clue what size I am now.

B: green smoothie

B2: coffee w/Splenda X 2

L: 2 ounces low sodium turkey breast and a hard boiled egg

D: ham and cheese omelet

S: L&F yogurt

I always have to weigh. I too tend to think there is less there than truth. Weirdly, my skinny SIL does the opposite. She will have 2 ounces and think she has 4. Because she has health issues I have been encouraging her to eat more protein and to weigh it to make sure she is getting enough.
