Weigh****chers - Tuesday
I agree 100% with this. I know I need 1400 calories a day to maintain at 136. I know a point is about 50 calories and that I need about 28 points a day to maintain. When I eat less I will lose, if I eat more I will gain.
The laws of science and physics have not changed. But if a person is currently eating 4000 calories a day, then 30 points is going to result in weight loss and a sensible amount for them to eat.
For the first three years after surgery, I ate high protein and almost zero carbs. When I had regain I went to Weigh****chers and started following their program, mostly because the meetings kept me accountable.
For a lot of years, I followed a program called If It Fits Your Macros. Then I drifted into doing nothing and gained 30 pounds over two years. I started back to Weigh****chers mostly for the accountability of it. I like their points program, but know I am not their typical Weigh****cher.
So I follow what makes sense to me as a weight loss surgery veteran.
Real life begins where your comfort zone ends
I have been a lifetime member of Weigh****chers since 1973. I never heard this total points theory until the last year or so. It makes no sense to me. If you don't eat enough calories to make up for what you burn, then your body burns stored fat to compensate.
That is called losing weight. If I do not want to eat and am not hungry, I do not use the points.
Real life begins where your comfort zone ends
That is where I am going, last night I ate to use points. I am going to stop with that theory. We made a really good beef and broccoli recipe that was 3 points for a cup and quarter serving size. Was delicious and filled me up. I had a couple of snacks to get my points in. Tonight I will not follow the same theory.
