Weigh****chers - Tuesday
Looks like it is going to be a cold, cloudy day again. I will be on the treadmill with my large insulated water bottle and my Kindle. To keep the treadmill a bit interesting I make sure that I have something enjoyable to watch on the treadmill. Today it will be the lastest episode of My 600 Pound Life - Where are They Now or an episode of Anne with an E.
I used to do all of my miserable weather walking at the mall or at Walmart.
My state, Ohio, is going to start to open up again on Friday. I have no plans to join them yet, but very hopeful that it goes well.
One thing I have learned about Weigh****chers is that you do not need to track zero point foods. For me, it depends on my mood. After a few days of being serious about the program, the zero point foods start to be second nature and I don't track them.
But in the beginning, I think it does help to track every bite. I have to bring some cans of fruit and vegetables up from the basement because my virus hoarding has resulted in more than I can fit in the kitchen cabinets. The garbage gets picked up this morning, so last night I got rid of any leftovers that had been hanging around this week. I like the well organized and almost empty refrigerator look.

This made me giggle and it was how I felt yesterday. Today is better.
I lost a pound since yesterday. Years ago my WW leader would say the weight you gain quickly hasn't really "stuck" yet so it is easier to lose. When you get down to the "hard lard" it gets harder. So I expect to lose the remaining 7 I gained during Corona pretty easily if I stick to my plan. Then I expect the rest to be harder to lose. I will focus on one pound at a time.
Yesterday I had 34 points. I will try to stop at 30 today.
7 down, 23 to go!!
ETA I do track all of my zero point foods. If I eat too many of them, I do not lose.

Do you guys see a pattern here? It's the snacks that are killing me. The meals are very low point. An f'ing pb cookie is 11 pts!!! I have a total of 16 pts daily.
Question about activity, not that I'm eating my activity pts. I'm trying hard to not even eat my extra weekly pts. How are activity points counted? I have connected WW to my Garmin. At first when I started, WW gave me a goal of 25! Pffff! I increased it to 100 and by the end of the week I was at 132. This week I set it at 120. But curious how they calculate them and what the average is.

The crazy point system for snacks is new this year and probably will be gone one of these days. It is based on them believing that you can't eat just one cookie, so they multiply the points for a handful of cookies.
In my case, I am can eat one cookie and I am not gong to use 11 points for something that is truly one or two points. So I track something like a cookie using the calories on the package and figuring one point for every 50 calories.
My current Garmin is the Forerunner 35 and I just got it last Saturday. I am still learning how to work it. I have had Vivosmarts for the last eight years and it was so simple with one button. Now I have four buttons and keep pushing the wrong ones.
I know activity points get tracked in Weigh****chers but have not really figured out how they work yet.
You are doing great and the weight loss will happen.

I have the forerunner 45s. The learning curve is steep, but after you learn it, it's easy. I still have days that I can't remember which button is for what.

I walk around an hour a day which gives me 20 points and because my step count is 12,000 it gives me another 5 so I average around 25 activity points a day from my fitbit. I look at that but never use them. I do use my weekly points.

I have read in a couple of places that it is important to eat the total of your daily points, is this correct?

My WW leader says so, and she claimed it was the science behind the balance of nutrients, but I am skeptical. Not all points are created equally, right? So it doesn't follow to me that it is scientifically based.
My gut tells me that most people on WW are not WLS patients, and most still have thundering appetites and portion sizes, so they are trying to get people to really eat a lot and be satisfied, and not starve themselves to stick with it long term (no more starvation diets).
So, I guess I am trying to say, I think eating all of your points is more about psychology than physiology. But I'd be interested in hearing other explanations!
