Mornin' All (afternoon for some of you!)

nothing on the agenda today except for Mah Jongg with my usual group this afternoon. Otherwise the usual - taking a walk and reading. Maybe start on some project later on.

So United Airlines keeps updating their policy. A week or two ago I was able to cancel my flight to Italy for free, and I got a voucher good for the next 23 months - in the amount of what the original tickets cost - to use toward any flight we take within the next 23 months.

the company that was making the arrangements in Italy - apartment, ground transportation, airport transfers, and groceries so we can have at least some food in the apt (I'm thinking for breakfasts...) originally agreed to waive rebooking fees if we rebooked the trip within 12 months of the originally scheduled trip (so for us, through May of 2021), but they recently updated it so we can go ANY time in 2021. So I WAS going to reschedule for a year from now (May 2021), but now I'm thinking maybe we should wait until Sept or Oct of 2021 instead. Weather in southern Italy is supposedly great then (well, it would be in May as well...) - not too hot, and it's the "shoulder season" - so not overrun with tourists. Plus maybe the virus will be less of a threat 18 months from now than it will be a year from now. But then, no one knows.

accountability was good yesterday, but no exercise. Will go for a walk today.

QOTD: I don't remember many specific events, but I dreaded taking the stairs to my office (on the second floor!) and almost always took the elevator. Walking more than a block or two would exhaust me. Like some, I dreaded booths - and I remember once going to a restaurant with a co-worker we rarely went out with, and I didn't fit in the booth - they had to bring me a chair to put at the end of the table. How embarrasing! And once I took a flight to Japan and didn't use the bathroom the entire time because I was afraid I wouldn't fit in the plane's bathroom - or get stuck in there! I thought I was going to DIE by the time we landed in Tokyo! I also used to lie in bed sometimes worrying that I was going to have a heart attack and having them tell me in the ER that there was pretty much nothing they could do for me unless I could lose at least 100 lbs fast. Oh - and I used to worry that if/when I croaked, they'd have to search far and wide and probably transport my body to Chicago or somewhere that had a crematory big enough to fit my body in (sorry to be so morbid - but I thought about that a lot!). I'm SO GLAD all of this is behind me!

I am glad you lost the weight too! Your head wasn't in a good place.

DH and I went to Italy (Rome, Venice, Amalfi coast, Florence) in September 2011. It was HOT (but hotter than normal we were told). LOTS of tourists but still perhaps less than earlier (I have only been once so don't know about other times).

Good Thursday afternoon.

eck. Much pain today. I also had to chase around where a prescription was sent. Finally got that figured out but will have to wait until tomorrow to get it. May head to Sam's then to to get some chicken.

there is a meat packing plant in our area with over 100 cases of Covid-19. There is another one that may have an outbreak too. We'll see. Very unnerving.

qotd: I had a detached retina from years of not giving a crap about my health and type 2 diabetes. Diabetic retinopathy is a pretty hard pill to swallow. ESP at 35. That was the biggest for me. That was very sobering...very.

b:PP shake

l:kodiak waffles, magic syrup & zero sugar mango juice

s:100 calorie bag of popcorn.

d:turkey burger with lettuce and tomatoes

s:Greek yogurt with strawberries

Life currently has given me a 180* turn in my thinking... I was one who thought my oldest brother was nutso with how he was "prepping" for things 2 months ago.

QOTD: There are still times when I feel unhealthy but in the past, when I was a lot younger and I was probably at my heaviest would try and get the meal with the most food... looking back it wasn't because I was hungry, just to eat it. I still do that sometimes and have to talk to my husband before I order so it's nice that he puts me back in "check".

I have been having abdominal pains and I am not sure if it has to deal with my gallbladder, so today, I am taking it slow.

Breakfast: Quest Chocolate Protein Shake with 6oz Fairlife Milk

Snack: Ham Slices with cucumber

Lunch: Salad with non fat Italian dressing

Snack: another protein shake (Haven't decided what flavor yet...)

Dinner: mixed veggies with chicken

Hi JB - another onpoint meme!! You are the best at these. There's a game called "how do you meme" that I got for my nieces and nephews -- you would be great at it!

qotd - I had gone to red rocks with friends and we ended up having to walk up and down and up again and everyone had to stop to wait for me. My friends were incredible and supportive and blamed it all on me coming up from sea level to red rocks same day but I knew better and I just wanted to cry. The other time was when I was with my NP and I did cry because I could not get my A1C under control no matter what I did, which drugs I took. That was the day she told me about WLS and changed my life! It was about 6 months after the red rocks incident.

this morning as I was reading about the high mortality rates of people with HBP and Covid-19, I was once again incredibly grateful to her! I am sorry for your friend that has to be so stressful.

work has been crazy busy today but with good, meaty stuff so I've enjoyed it! I don't mind a challenge but I hate piddly work.

im late posting today - I've had all my water, my coffee and half and half, a light and fit, the last of the sausage/tomato sauce and a carbmaster cottage cheese. I should have the last portion of the pizza for dinner but I'm pretty full so I might just have more tea and a yogurt.

hope everyone has had a great day
